Tips For Parents of Young Drivers
If you’re the parent of someone who has just received their license, no doubt you are experiencing a lot of mixed emotions at the moment. Pride, relief (no more driving them to soccer practise three times a week!) but mostly worry. It’s a big thing, letting your child out into the world in control of a powerful and potentially dangerous machine, but it is something that all parents have to do at some stage or another. In order to lessen the amount of stress you experience during these first few months of your young driver’s road career, there are several actions you can take. From setting strict guidelines to getting a car service to make sure everything is running smoothly, here are a few tips to help you relax while they’re out there on the road.
Rules
Sure, there are road rules and laws to take into consideration, but if your child is under 18 and still living at home (especially if they’re using your car) thee is no reason why you can’t sit down with them and agree on some of your own rules for their use of the car that will set your mind at ease. One boundary you might like to consider for the first few months is a two-person maximum in the car while your child is driving. A lot of accidents with young drivers occur wen they have a car full of their friends and are consequently distracted from driving.
By limiting the amount of passengers your child is able to carry you’ll give them a better chance at safer driving. Another guideline to discuss is a curfew when they have the car. Apart from this restricting tired or possibly reckless driving late at night, it will ensure that you don;t spend half the night awake worrying. Alternatively, a simple text-message confirmation when they’ve arrived somewhere is a good way to keep track.
Music
This seems like a bit of an odd element to consider, but studies have shown that the louder and faster the music you listen to while you’re driving is, the more likely you are to drive above the speed limit. As we well know, attempting to make young people listen to music at a reasonable level is often an exercise in futility, but you can certainly reduce the chances by putting the brakes on any plans to install huge sub-woofers or speakers in the first six months of driving.
Maintenance
Obviously, when sending our child out on the road you want to make sure that the vehicle they’re in is up to the challenge. Make sure your child is involved in the process of discussing maintenance costs, registration, car repairs and anything else that needs to be done. Obviously how the finances are worked out is between you, but it is always a good idea to learn early on about the cost and responsibility of owning and maintaining a car.…

Hyundai vehicles are usually priced economically and in America, they have a great service network. In most cases, it has been observed that ordering a part from the company is time-consuming, tedious and expensive. As an alternative to the delays in availability of parts, most buyers opt for used Hyundai parts. These are 100% genuine OEM parts available with ease over the Internet and at almost one-third the price of the new ones. Internet today is flooded with websites selling used auto parts but it is the responsibility of the buyer to analyze the company and the product before buying. What one needs to look out for is, the reputation of the website, the parts on offer and the offers on parts. A combination of everything is the right choice and its a fact that most people are satisfied with their purchase if done through reputed auto parts sellers.
Purchasing used Hyundai parts is indeed an option worth exploring before going back to the company and waiting in queue. What sets the used auto parts industry apart is the ease with which used parts are available and the heavy discounts on offer, plus some added benefits too. Many auto parts sellers provide parts with warranty, money-back guarantee, free shipping and customer support. The buyer gets all this plus the actual part for a fraction of the price he would have paid for a new part. In addition to this, it is worth mentioning that used parts work fine with your vehicle since they are original company made.
So if you are looking for used Hyundai parts, Internet is your best friend.…

Don’t be persuaded to sign for a car that your budget cannot afford. A lot of people end up purchasing sports cars because they fell for the dealer’s slick comments about how good they look driving it. Remember that the goal of any salesperson is to make the highest commission, so they will benefit from selling a pricier car.
If you pay the sticker price, you are basically throwing money at the dealer. In fact, you should never purchase a car for the listed price. These prices are purposefully high in order to give some money to play around with in order to make a deal.
Look for your car on the Internet before going to the lot. You should only go to a dealership when you are sure about the make and model of the car that you want. Use the Internet to see what possible cars might be best suited for you before heading to the dealership.
Know what you need in your vehicle before you go to the lot. Research all of you options prior to shopping so you can figure out what works best for your budget and family needs. This can help you see the price range of the car you want so that you won’t get tricked by a slick salesman.
When buying privately, always bring along a mechanic. If the current owner declines to let you do this, take that warning sign to heart. This could mean you have to pay for problems that aren’t evident at the time. Falling for one of these issues is almost never in your best interest.
You should never pay a car’s sticker price. The sticker price isn’t what the salesperson expects to receive for that car. If negotiation is not something that you personally excel at, bring along someone that does. Before you set foot on the lot, research the vehicle to determine what constitutes a fair price.
Bring someone along on your car shopping day. This individual can be another pair of eyes and ears, and they just might save you from a bad deal by nudging you to walk away when you should. They could be a parent, a friend, or a spouse.

Your vehicle may not be used frequently or you only drive it when on vacation in Florida, but, still, you have to have a Florida auto insurance policy covering you to be allowed to drive in the streets of sunny Florida.
Florida’s PIP (Personal Injury Protection) insurance covers a vehicle owner protection regardless of his fault. Whether he caused or is the victim of a car crash, the owner remains covered by this insurance. It covers also those passengers during the time of incident (family, etc) who does not own a separate vehicle. The good thing about the Personal Injury Protection (PIP) insurance is that it also covers your children while riding a bus, if you are in someone else’s vehicle, or if you are simply a pedestrian who accidentally becomes part of a vehicular accident that caused injuries on you.
This is part of the Florida Motor Vehicle No-Fault Law that protects the injured party regardless of the circumstances of his participation in an accident. Part of this state law is the PDL or Property Damage Liability insurance that covers damages incurred by you or your family members who might have caused damage to other people’s property in a vehicular accident. The Florida auto insurance law provides for a BIL insurance. The Bodily Injury liability or BIL insurance covers serious and/or permanent injury and death suffered by another victim an accident that you caused. The insurance provider will also represent you and provide legal counsel in case you get sued by an aggrieved party due to a road mishap. The BIL insurance covers you and your family (even if they were driving another vehicle) who may have caused injury to another. This also provides coverage to other persons whom you might have given permission to drive your vehicle and were involved in an incident causing bodily harm to another.
Insurance companies in Florida must be duly licensed by the Florida Department of Financial services. The Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles is the one in charge in the suspension of driving privileges (which includes suspension of vehicle registration)
As with other state laws, the Florida auto insurance law is a means of protecting its citizens. Be aware of your insurance policy, Drive safely.…

People who are new to the automotive world may find it a challenge to understand even just the basics of their car. They may find it even more confusing when they see the hundreds of automotive service shops and the different service specials that are available, all claiming to be vital to your car’s performance. How do you know which services really are vital to the function and life of your vehicle? This article will discuss a few of the most important services that cannot be overlooked.
One of those services that are important to your car involves frequent Tune ups. Since your car can be worn out over time and over excessive usage, every 30000 miles or at least once every two years, a tune up is needed in order to replace parts of the car’s engine that have turned faulty or have experienced excessive wear. By having regular Tune ups, this will extend your car’s life and will improve your car’s performance as well.
Another service that works back to back with tune ups is the Brake Service. Brake pads in particular, are wearable items that bear the entire weight of your car on a frequent basis. You rely on these pads for your very life in order to stop your car. The pads must be replaced regularly, as well as your cylinders and your brake fluid. Don’t wait until you see a warning light on your dash board telling you that something is wrong. Are your brakes making excessive noises such as squeaking or grinding? Does the car shake when coming to a stop? Don’t put off having a brake service performed. It might just mean your life.
Full Service Oil and Lube is another service that is important for your car. This service includes an oil change, which should be done at least once every 3000 miles or at every three months, whichever comes first. This service also addresses other parts of the car, such as the oil filter, belts, battery, car wiper blades and many more. If your car care center sees that the wiper blades of the car need replacement, then a Wiper Blade Replacement is offered.
The Full Service Oil and Lube service makes sure that all parts of the engine remain lubricated, to prevent damage to your engine. The fuel you put in your car makes sure that the engine has the power needed to runr. Therefore, having a Fuel Injection Service performed every 15000 miles or once a year, is vital to ensure proper operation of your car. During this service, the mechanics will completely clean your car’s fuel injection system from carbon deposits that will harm your engine. This ensures maximum performance of your car, as well as improves your fuel economy.
Radiator Maintenance is another type of maintenance that your car must have every once in a while. During this service, a qualified technician will perform a Radiator Flush Service. Your radiator is vital for keeping your engine and transmission cooled. If your cooling system happens to fail, this can cause major damage to your engine or transmission. So, prevention is important to avoid failure. With a Radiator Flush, the mechanic will drain and refill your radiator to remove 95% of the contaminants found in the old fluid, which consist of rust and scale. They will also check for leaks. Maintaining Your New Car
You’ve done it. You’ve taken the leap and bought your very own car. You’ve taken time to read the owner manual, and you’ve driven the car up and down the block a few times, just to show the neighbors. It sure feels good driving your new car.
In Ontario, people believe that the best part about buying a new car is knowing that it’s going to be trouble-free for a while. However, every new car owner should know that a car functions as well as the owner maintains it. And while your new car may be reassuringly trouble-free for a while, there are still some things that you must remember to keep it that way for a little longer.
Most car owners often do three tasks for car maintenance: checking engine oil, checking the air pressure in the tires, and washing your car. These three tasks make sure that your car, along with its engine, remains in good shape.
It’s important to check the engine’s oil level once or twice a month. By making sure that the engine has sufficient oil, you can avoid costly engine repairs or overhauls. Make sure that you don’t overfill the engine bay with oil. Don’t hesitate to ask for help from a Burlington car service shop or any reputable shop near you if it’s your first time to refill engine oil. You can also have auto repair experts to check for oil leaks.
Moreover, every car owner must own a tire-pressure gauge. This gauge lets you check the inflation pressure in each tire, to see if your tires are working under the manufacturer-prescribed inflation pressure. If not, you may need to increase or decrease pressure by having air pumped in or let out of the tires. Burlington car service specialists recommend that you check your tire pressure at least once a month, before any long road trips, and whenever the tires are cold.
Your car must also be washed every week, to keep it looking as if you bought it with a Burlington car loan just yesterday. Removing dirt and road salt from the car’s body, fender wells, and undercarriage keeps your car rust-free. This helps you avoid the costs of having to replace prematurely damaged car parts.…

To make certain that the car you intend to buy is within good shape, the mechanical condition and also the cosmetic look of the car must be thoroughly inspected. Obviously, a pre-owned car is not perfect so you need to be aware of its defects prior to making the acquisition. Any flaws you discover, you can use them as a tool during the negotiations.
It is strongly advised that you concur a final price prior to making the trip. Negotiate the high cost over the phone, Internet by other way of communication. Remember to tote around a duplicate of the info distributed by the dealer. Imaginable how frustrating it might be to travel hundreds of miles to buy an automobile it’s not as it had been advertised.
You’ll have to contact your local DMV office to find out the best idea way to handle the title, license and tax issues. Even though car that you’re planning on purchasing is out of state, it will still have to be registered in your jurisdiction. Don’t forget to inquire about when there is any special documentation necessary to be able to register the car from out of state. For those who have decided to finance the vehicle, ensure that the financial institution or dealer has got the necessary information for registering the car in the state in which you live. Additionally, verify the sales tax and make sure that you aren’t being ripped off by any means.
After you have taken care of all these, you’ll have to make the required arrangements to be able to take delivery or pick up the vehicle you plan on buying. Never get a car before you take it for any thorough try out to see the way it feels. Before signing, ensure that you are 100% pleased with what you are going to purchase so that you won’t have second thoughts later on. If you will be carrying out a trade, you will probably cover the cost of the trip on your own. If not, a friend of yours will need to include you in order to drive among the cars home. Whilst our regular car service will go a long way to keeping your engine performing efficiently there are several things you can do as a driver to make sure you get the best value for money at the pump.
One of the major features of new vehicles which every manufacturer is keen to point out to potential buyers is fuel efficiency. The more important factors are how you drive the car and how you look after your engine.
So, with these things in mind let’s look at five fuel economy tips which you can start following today to maximise the mileage you get from your tankful.
Car Maintenance. Your vehicle should always be serviced in accordance with the recommended intervals in your handbook. A regular car service will ensure that your engine remains in tiptop condition and that is tuned to maximise fuel efficiency. Driving Style. An aggressive driving style where you accelerate quickly and brake just as fast, is a sure-fire way to increase your fuel consumption. Observe Speed Limits. In addition to the above tip, bear in mind that if you exceed speed limits you will significantly increase your fuel consumption. Think of it this way, for every 8 km/h over the speed limit it is like paying an extra five cents per litre!
Take the Weight off. Make sure you remove any heavy items from the vehicle if you don’t need them. This is especially the case with the things you keep in your boot. Also, remember to remove things like roof racks when they are not in use as a can act as a substantial wind drag on your vehicle and increase fuel consumption substantially.
Use Your Accessories. It is surprising how many drivers fail to use cruise control on highway driving. When traffic is flowing regularly, cruise control is one of the most efficient ways to minimise fuel consumption. So if you don’t know how to use it, read the handbook!
Use Overdrive. In addition to using cruise control make sure you use the overdrive gear whilst cruising on the highway. This will ensure that you maintain speed at the most optimum engine usage.
It doesn’t take much to realise how simple maximising fuel consumption can be when you follow these simple tips. Paying your mechanic for your next car service will also get a little easier if you save money every time you drive your vehicle!…

When making a vehicle purchase, you should make sure that you’re getting the value that you want. It isn’t easy when a nagging salesman tries to get all of your money. However, you can do this, but you have to figure out what to do first.
Be sure that you know what type of car you’re looking for and some specifics, such as price, before you leave to go car shopping. How much can you afford to spend? How many do you need the car to seat? How many miles per gallon would you like? Do you need four or two doors? Make a list of your wants, and take it with you when you go shopping.
Do not allow yourself to get talked into a car you can’t afford. Many people are smooth-talked into buying sports cars because the salesman says they would look good in it. When you purchase a vehicle that is not within your budget, you can be sure that the dealership and salesperson — not YOU — will benefit.
Have an idea of the type of car or truck you want before you head to a dealership. Look up information online to see what is best for your budget and family. This can also help you become aware of the prices to expect on a particular vehicle, making it less likely that you will be taken advantage of by a fast-talking salesperson.
If you are buying a car from a dealer have your mechanic look for it. If they say no, leave. A good mechanic can provide an impartial opinion regarding any problems with the vehicle, such as signs that the car has been wrecked or submerged in flood water.

Financing a Car – A Vital Tip Concerning Interest Rates
Rusty October 17, 2022 ArticleFinancing a Car – A Vital Tip Concerning Interest Rates
Financing a car is a regular occurrence, but just because there is nothing unusual about it, it does not mean that you should take it lightly. You need to understand the various financing choices which exist. There are lots of options involved with auto loans. By doing a little bit of investigation, you just might obtain a much better financing deal. The following is a significant tip that everyone needs to think about when searching for financing for their next used or new vehicle.
It is very important to determine how the interest rate for the loan is to be calculated. There are basically two distinct varieties of lending products. There are simple interest loans as well as front-loaded interest type loans. A simple interest loan is more advantageous for the person obtaining financing. This type of loan calculates the interest on your entire loan and then breaks the interest payments into equal monthly installments. Front-loaded interest lending products are the a superior choice for the loan provider. This is because the interest that the borrower will have to pay is more significant at the beginning of the loan and then tapers off towards the conclusion of the loan term. Obviously, you should seek out lending products that offer simple interest. Ask the lender which type of structure their loans are based upon.
Financing a car is something which really should not be taken lightly. You need to ensure you are not being taken advantage of. Do some leg work. Look for lending options on your own. Ask your financial institution or credit union. Check out lending web sites. Ask the car dealership for their rates.…
Make Moving Trouble-Free With Car Shipping
Sometimes moving, for whatever reason, includes a long relocation distance. Organizing your move and determining how to get everything to the new location easily can be difficult. For household items, a moving truck is almost always the best way to move in one simple trip. Unfortunately, home belongings are not the only item that needs to be moved. Vehicles must be relocated as well. Moving across many states can make getting all of these items to your new home seem near impossible. Car shipping is becoming a very popular solution to this problem due to the added convenience and increased efficiency.
Motor vehicle transportation is actually a very helpful and safe way to get your move done faster. As opposed to driving each vehicle and the truck to the desired location, you can move your belongings and be unpacking while your vehicle is being delivered. More than one person is required when the vehicles are being driven. Most likely that person will have to be driven back to the original destination. The result is many unnecessary trips, additional wear on the vehicle, and lost time. Motor vehicle transportation is so appealing because it removes all this hassle and has the additional benefit of the car not having to be driven at all.
Research is pertinent when choosing one of these companies and can assure the best service at a reasonable price. Price is always a top consideration when employing a company to provide a service, but it should not the only one when choosing a transport company. A company that offers a very low price may be able to offer that price because they cut corners. The results can be devastating when using one of these companies. Companies which charge high prices for their service often offer the same quality of service as those that fall somewhere in the middle. It is not worthwhile to spend more money for the same service. That is other factors besides the price should be used when comparing car shipping providers.
The best thing you can do to make your choice easier is to obtain quotes from car shipping companies based on the services you need. Provide specific details as far as the vehicle type, vehicle year, locations for pickup and drop off, shipping date, and the type of transport. Keep this information consistent when speaking with each company. This will make comparing car shipping companies much easier. Be sure to compare insurance offered to determine what companies take care of damages if they should occur.
Research is the most time consuming part of choosing a reliable company. Once chosen, the rest requires very little effort or work allowing you to focus on the rest of your moving responsibilities. All items of value need to be removed from the vehicle. Become familiar with the vehicles condition so that any new scratches or other damages will be easily noticed at delivery. The chosen company will pick up the car, load it onto a truck, and bring it to your new residence. Meanwhile you can be unpacking all your other belongings and getting settled without all the extra moving aggravations.…

Time To Review Your Fringe Benefits
The FBT year runs from 1st April to 31st March. Rumour has it that when this tax was introduced it was so regressive that it had to be an April Fools joke. Unfortunately after some 24 years it is still with us. Thank you Mr. Keating.
A fringe benefit is when you receive a benefit from your employer and have not paid tax on that benefit. The ATO believes it to be unfair that you get something they do not, so they tax you, at the top marginal rate. Most times the employer pays this tax but if you are self employed, you must pay. There are dozens of fringe benefits, including expense payment benefits, airline transport fringe benefits, living away from home allowance fringe benefit, entertainment fringe benefit, property fringe benefit, housing benefit and so the list goes on. Employees in the Health industry or employees of charitable organisations have it easy where fringe benefits are concerned as special rules apply to them and they get exemptions from paying the FBT up to a certain amount.
The most common fringe benefit is the use of a company motor vehicle and this is what applies to most self employed people whose business is conducted through a family company.
This tax is too complex to cover in the 500 words that will appear here but as the tax applies from 1st April there are certain things that must be done so as to meet legislative requirements.
With motor vehicles, the tax can be applied in several ways, it can be on distance travelled, ignoring the business/ private use of the vehicle, it can be on a percentage basis, identifying how much business use the vehicle gets as opposed to private use or it can be based on a simple 12.5% calculation of the cost base of the vehicle.
With any of these methods of calculation, the distance the car has travelled during the year must be identified. To do this an odometer reading should be taken. This information should be forwarded to your employer and the appropriate declaration signed. If you are self employed, and use a car (sedan) in your business you should forward the number to your accountant. The FBT act defines whether the motor vehicle is a car or not. If your motor vehicle is not a car then you may not be liable for FBT. The ATO web site identifies motor vehicles that are not cars and provided they are designed to carry a load of one tone or more, more than 8 passengers or if having a load capacity of less than one tone they are not designed for the principal purpose of carrying passengers, then they are exempt from FBT.
The important point here is if your company has sedans on its books, it must prepare a Fringe Benefits Tax return. So what you need to do is go outside, get the odometer reading, send it to your accountant and ask him/her, what is the next step. If the response is a dumb look, then you need to change accountants.…
Unfortunately a “one solution fixes all” does not apply to vehicle repairs. Instead, having a basis of knowledge that you can draw on about your car is vital. How important your car is can be enough to make you nervous when you think about repairs. That said, you’ll do better using these great tips.
When you are at the auto shop, ask a lot of questions concerning your car. What will they do to fix it? What is the problem? Engaging in preventative measures will likely save you money down the line.
Be aware of a mechanic who makes unneeded repairs to your car. Good mechanics will inform you if parts need replacing or will need replacing in the near future; however, they should not actually take the extra step and replace parts without your knowledge and approval. A mechanic who has performed this practice should never be patronized again.
Be sure that you know whether or not you have a mechanic that can help you with your vehicle. While most vehicles are made in similar ways, a lot of the time things are fairly different under the hood. If you don’t think he has, go to the dealer.
Replacing your own taillights and headlights is an easy way to save money. Hiring a professional to install new lights costs a lot of money. Ask whether someone you know can show you how to fix it.
You don’t necessarily have to visit your auto dealer to get work done. You should be able to find reliable mechanics in your area, either by going to a repair shop or an independent garage. If you have found a reliable mechanic, don’t hesitate to use them.
If you do not have a lot of money, but need auto repairs, you can visit a vocational school in your area to have the automotive department do repairs. You will pay a very low rate to have students fix your car while being supervised by a licensed mechanic.
Never let a mechanic tell you that you need to have your entire engine flushed as normal maintenance. This expensive service is only necessary if you have introduced the wrong fluids into your system or have not been changing the oil often enough.
If someone claims the parts they sell last a lifetime, run away. When mechanics use this claim, they are usually just trying to get you to spend more money unnecessarily. There are some cars that carry a “lifetime guarantee” for their transmission fluid: this is a perfect example. While this won’t have to be changed often, you will still have to change the fluid every 80,000 miles.
Original Equipment Manufacturer is the meaning of OEM. Remember this when you have car parts replaced. By communicating a preference for OEM parts, you appear knowledgeable and assertive. This will make someone less likely to try placing used parts on your vehicle.
Now you have more of a chance to have a great experience when you’re getting a vehicle repaired. Auto repairs aren’t always fun, but with the proper information, you can rise to the top. Use everything that this article has taught you and you’ll be more in control of getting auto repairs.…
Ideal Engines – Explanation of a Modern Brake System
This will be an attempt to familiarise you with a typical modern day brake system found on many passenger cars. The brake system I will be referring to has ABS brakes and is comprised of the following major components; the brake pedal, the vacuum brake booster, the master cylinder, a proportioning valve, front and rear brake hoses, front brake callipers, rear brake callipers or wheel cylinders depending on if the vehicle has rear drum or disc setup, brake discs, brake pads, and brake shoes. Those are the mechanical side of the brake system, the ABS portion of the brakes comprises of the ABS pump, the modulator valve, and the vehicle speed sensors.
Now, going down the line as they work they can be described a bit more fully. As you depress the brake pedal it is connected to a lever under your dash which goes through the vacuum booster and then into the master cylinder.Without the assistance of the vacuum booster the brake pedal becomes very hard and unresponsive, with the vacuum booster working properly the pedal depresses and pushes the plunger in the master cylinder to force brake fluid to build pressure in the brake lines.
As pressure is built up in the lines it travels through the proportioning valve which routes the right amount of fluid pressure to both the front and rear brakes. Without that valve the vehicle would not stop properly as because many vehicles are much heavier at the front than the rear, if they had the same pressure both front and back, the rear brakes would lock up and cause the back of the car to slide out because of loss of traction.
After passing through the proportioning valve the fluid is router to (front wheels- through the brake hoses and into the callipers)(rear wheels- through the brake hoses and into either wheel cylinders (drum brakes) or brake callipers) as the fluid compresses in the front brake callipers they cause the pistons to compress on the brake discs causing friction that in turn stops the vehicle. As the fluid goes to the rear it passes through brake hoses into either wheel cylinders or brake callipers, if it is a read drum system the brake fluid pushes out on the pistons in the wheel cylinders pushing the brake shoes against the inside of the brake drums creating friction to allow the vehicle to stop. If it is a rear disc brake set up them it works the same as with front discs.
The ABS or antilock brake system is an independent system from your normal service brakes, it is plumbed into the regular system and fluid does pass through it but it has its own design function all triggered by the vehicles speed sensors. If a speed sensor notices a tyre has come to a stop while others are still rotating it will stop adding pressure to the wheel that has stopped and actually release the pressure until that wheel begin to turn at the same speed as the other wheels on the vehicle. It then cycles itself in order to add fluid incrementally to all of the wheels to allow a controlled stop.
That is the most basic description of a current brake system that I can give without breaking down each part and making this a four thousand word essay, I think I will leave that for a later day.…
Forego the High Payment For A New Car and Pay Cash For a Used Part
Rusty October 4, 2022 ArticleForego the High Payment For A New Car and Pay Cash For a Used Part
With new vehicle prices soaring and the economy sagging, people are faced with a choice, purchase a new vehicle and struggle with a high monthly payment or maintain an older vehicle and save money. Today more people are making the decision to keep and maintain their current vehicle, rather than deal with a high monthly car payment.
While maintaining an older vehicle can save money, the price of the parts needed to maintain a vehicle can quickly add up, this is where used parts come in to play. Used parts cost on average 25 percent less than new parts.
Used parts, also referred to as refurbished parts, although less money, often come with comparable warranties to new parts. Warranties on used parts range from 30 days to 3 years and certain parts like engines and transmissions have a mileage stipulation. Many of the mileage stipulations follow new car warranties, such as: 3 years or 36,000 miles.
There are other benefits to using used parts besides saving money, maintaining a vehicle with used parts is a healthy choice for the environment. When parts are refurbished and reinstalled on another vehicle, the demand on natural resources such as aluminum, copper and oil are lessened. It is estimated that 85 million barrels of oil are conserved each year by the current amount of parts being reused.
Another environmental benefit of using used auto parts is that greenhouse gas emissions are reduced due do a lessen need for new “virgin” parts. The majority of greenhouse gases produced by part manufacturers are during the production of new parts and since used auto parts reuse the major part components, there is less need to manufacture parts like engine blocks and transmission cases.
Some vehicle owners are weary when it comes to purchasing used auto parts, fearing that the used part may not have the same quality and dependability as a new part. Used auto parts are rebuilt to meet or exceed the auto manufacturer’s original specifications.
Using used auto parts to maintain a vehicle is a no lose situation, maintaining an older vehicle relieves the burden of high monthly vehicle payments and is a healthy choice for the environment.…
Reasons for Car Crashes in Oklahoma
Traffic accidents are among the main reasons for death and injury in America. In accordance with the reports from the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration, car accidents take place nearly every 8 seconds. Throughout Oklahoma, thousands of people are killed each year due to motor vehicle accidents and many more individuals are severely injured. Since cities such as Oklahoma continue to expand, population increases and traffic activities are becoming heavily congested. Some this congestion leads to negligent or reckless driving, which put the lives of motorists and pedestrians at risk every day.
During 09 alone, the police in Oklahoma responded to numerous incidents and 564 of this figure happened at the top ten hazardous intersections in the city. All these 10 intersections are situated on the western side where the traffic is extremely heavy. Three of the top dangerous intersections are Pennsylvania Avenue and Memorial Road, Interstate 240 and Memorial and Northwest Expressway and NW 63.
Last year, approximately 93 auto accidents occurred at the Pennsylvania Avenue and Memorial Road intersection, which included injury, hit-and-run, drug related, non-injury and drunk driving. NW 63 and Northwest Expressway intersection had 63 auto accidents during 2009 and the Memorial and Interstate 240 claimed the third spot for being the most detrimental intersection throughout Oklahoma.
Newly released research have revealed that negligent driving makes up about 81% of the car accidents which take place in this city. In some instances, the motorist might appear to be focused on other things besides what is happening on the road. In other situations, the drivers might be intoxicated from drugs or alcoholic beverages. The outcomes of an automobile accident might be long-lasting injury as well as death; however with safer driving practices those consequences could be definitely avoided. The police in Oklahoma City have recommended the installation of red light cameras around the higher accident regions, with the goal of lowering the amount of motorists who run the red lights and in so doing possibly stopping future incidents.…
Auto Repair Options and Locations
There is a lot of debate about who the right resource is for auto repair. Some swear by the service at the local mechanic shop. Others refuse to have anything at all done anywhere but the dealer. Both have valid claims. So, how does one decide what to do? Fortunately, there are some basic guidelines to consider.
For one thing, if a vehicle is still under warranty and part of that requires that a dealer perform all service, then do not, under any circumstance, void the warranty. The amount of money that one stands to lose by not allowing the manufacturer to pick up the tab for parts and labor is staggering. As long as the work is complimentary or inexpensive, keep it up. There is no reason to start paying out-of-pocket when it is not necessary.
On the other hand, sometimes a dealer is not the most knowledgeable. Yes, they may have all the manufacturer tools and parts, but the person turning the wrench could be on their first day on the job. Whereas, a local mechanic might specialize in one make of car and the employees there could have been working on these vehicles exclusively for thirty years. Obviously, the experience and the knowledge regarding how this type of engine and this car runs are invaluable.
That being said, the local guys often use whatever parts are fastest and least expensive from their distributor. This may work fine for some things, but not having exactly the right part can mean that things get rigged to work. Parts that maybe are not the best choice or exactly right for the engine or job may be used instead. Most of the time, this will not be a problem, but it is unlikely that a person wants to be on the receiving end one of the times that an auto repair is an issue.
Because of this debate, many feel it is best to go to an authorized service station that brings the knowledge and friendliness of a local mechanic to the professionalism and quality of a dealer experience. Here, one will find reasonably priced auto repair that is of a higher level of quality. In some cases, going to these places does not even void the warranty.
Also, it is nice to find these large franchised national companies as an auto repair provider because they can do a lot of different types of work and they can do it fast and right the first time. The best part is that while a national company backs them, they are staffed by local people and owned by a local person. So, the experience is far friendlier and more courteous than you would expect from the neighborhood mechanic.…
What to Do When a Dealer Cannot Get Parts For Your Car
Rusty September 29, 2022 ArticleWhat to Do When a Dealer Cannot Get Parts For Your Car
When the main dealer does not have the parts you require for your car repair, this can be very frustrating, especially when you have taken time out from your busy lifestyles to visit the main dealer just to find out that the parts are not in stock because your car is too old or because you do not have a part number. This could lead you to feeling helpless and none the closer in finding your parts. However, don’t fear there are other options.
This article will aim to help parts searchers to find the parts they are after from different places other than the main dealers where they can find the parts by not paying way over the odds.
Finding parts when you DO NOT have internet access?
If you are looking for parts for your car and you have already been to your local main dealer that has told you that they do not stock your parts anymore, then a good alternative is to visit your local motor factor parts shops. These shops will sell mainly new parts from service parts i.e. – oil filters, brake pads and brake discs to more mechanical parts like engine parts – timing belt kits, head gaskets, suspension parts – springs and dampers. Even though these parts are not original manufacturer parts, they are termed ‘replacements’ parts, but are generally manufactured to a decent standard by recognised companies such as Bosch & Siemens.
Some motor factor shops will provide pretty good guarantees, with some providing a minimum of 3 months guarantee. The advantage to these parts is that the price is always a lot cheaper than main dealer prices, however, bear in mind that the quality of the part is not to the same standard. This could be a useful option though as in today’s economic downturn, it could get you back on the road and save you money. In addition, you could also try using the Yellow Pages or ring telephone directory companies (watch out for these as they can be expensive call charges) to broaden your search when looking for motor factor companies in your area. Broadening your search will give you more options of where the parts are located but more importantly where you can get it for the cheapest price – all from the comfort of your own home.
Finding parts when you DO have internet access?
If you have internet access then you have a big advantage when searching for your car parts before you even start your search. Going online to search for your car parts means you are going to get a lot better deal on your parts as you can explore websites from all over the UK. Most companies offer next day deliver services so the issue of travelling to get your parts is not even something you have to consider. In today’s world, the beauty about website’s and buying from them is that they are open 24/7, so surf and look for your parts when its convenient FOR YOU.
The other advantage of going online compared to motor factors is that although they cater for the minor parts, such as, oil filters, brake pads & brake discs to more mechanical parts like engine parts – timing belt kits, head gaskets, suspension parts they DO NOT cater for wing mirrors, alternators, engines or gearboxes – website companies can find the majority of parts you are after.
I have not got time to be exploring the net to find my parts?
This is true in many cases and let’s face it, everyone would prefer to be relaxing and enjoying themselves rather than be looking for car parts all evening. If this is the case, then another recommendation is to use a part location website.
These website specialise in finding new and used car parts, and are brilliant on price comparison. The advantage of using these websites is that you tell them what you want and they ‘compare the market’ across the majority of breaker-yards in the country for you, and then they get you the cheapest price. In addition to saving you time and money, you will also be doing your bit for the environment in recycling car parts, will be getting genuine parts to the same quality as the dealership parts, and they will give you guarantees on parts and next day delivery service is provided.
In conclusion, if the main dealer does not have your parts then do not despair, and don’t get stressed out. If you have internet access this will be the best way to get your parts, for the best price and when it is convenient for you. By using individual websites or using the ALL IN ONE …
