The reason for this is very simple and that is there effective way which they follow and some of the effective tips to buy such type are detailed in deep below,
Car condition:
Checking the car condition is the very first step to buy a highly usable used car. The condition should be checked by dividing the features into two they are the internal working areas and the external appealing factor. The car which is good from work performance and not so good in appearance is not worth buying and vice versa. Only those models should be preferred that can satisfy you eyes and mind at one time. And if you want to buy such models then checking the condition of the selected models becomes very important and essential step.
Car price:
Compare the car cost with the level of performance. If the performance is higher and cost is lower then buying is worth, but if the performance is lower than the cost then it is waste to buy the cheap used car. So, cost plays the fundamental role in the buying procedure. The market factors are also responsible to decide the exact value of the car. Again, after all these things the type, model and the manufacturer of cars also make a silent statement in the process of purchasing the car.

Mobile Marketing’s Golden Rule to Increase Your Car Count – Auto Repair Shop Marketing
Rusty April 18, 2021 ArticleWhen it comes to increasing your car count, getting more new and repeat customers, you need to take your Auto Service Shop marketing mobile by using a Text Message Marketing campaign.
Just remember that the Golden Rule of Text Message marketing is this:
“Text Message Marketing is Not Really a Sales Business; It’s a Relationship Building Business”
Then having said that, you’re probably asking yourself ‘Why do I need mobile marketing for my auto service shop business?’, right?
To start, America is tired of doing business with faceless corporations where they’re treated like a number, not a person. Being able to build your ‘personal’ relationships with customers and prospects is your ‘ace’ in marketing.
Mobile marketing really is personal. Your messages are delivered to your customers and prospects where they are and they are mobile and on their phone. Your message goes directly to where they will see it; right in the palm of their hand!
Statistics prove that people are on their phone for more than just the chat. There are billions of text messages sent daily! More and more people every day get ‘tied’ to their phone as a resource. They use it as their main communication device, for surfing the internet, doing local searches, texting and maybe even a phone call every once in a while.
The reason that Text message marketing is powerful is because it is highly targeted. You can create various ‘keywords’ to market to specific groups of customers. As an example, imagine a shop that specializes in Audi and BMW service. You could create a specific keyword for each group and send them only the offers that are specific to them and the make of vehicle they drive.
On the other hand, you could create keywords to attract new customers. As an example, if you’re offering a special on your Air Conditioning Check, you should promote it by advertising “Text ACCHECK to 54321 to get Your A/C Inspection for Just $19.95”. Make your offer attractive and people will respond.
When users text to your short code (the shortened number in your ad) they opt-in to your list. From signage or advertising where you promote your mobile offers, users are basically saying that they have an interest and want to receive your offers and messages.
Using the examples above, owners of Audi or BMW vehicles would only get information, offers and coupons that are related to the vehicle they drive. That makes it personal.
Ask yourself, “What better audience could you have than one made up of people who want to receive your messages?”.
You now have a chance to take your marketing to the next level. Build personal relationships with customers and prospects and send them only the offers that are of interest to them (and that they want to see).
The only thing left for you to do is sit back and wait for the stampede of customers coming to your door!…
1. Battery and Terminal Check – Have your battery checked once a year, especially if it’s more than two years old. A qualified technician will perform a quick load test to make sure it’s in good shape to keep you on the road. Also, you should check your battery’s terminals and cable connectors regularly. If you see corrosion, a simple mixture of baking soda and water will clean it off. In Michigan, faulty batteries and/or faulty terminal connections cause more car starting problem than any other factors.
2. Radiator Check – Have your coolant strength and level checked by a certified technician. The recommended protection is for 36 below 0. The level, condition and concentration of the coolant should be checked periodically. (A 50/50 mix of anti-freeze and water is usually recommended.) Never remove the radiator cap until the engine has thoroughly cooled!
3. Oil & Fluids – Check engine oil, brake fluid, power steering fluid and transmission fluids and top off or change when necessary. Remember, it is best to keep your car’s gas tank more than half full during those cold winter months.
4. Belts & Hoses – Check belts and hoses for cracks, leaks and bulges as well as be sure all clamps are secure. The belts and hoses should fit tight and be firm, not too soft or brittle.
5. Tires – It is recommended that your car be fitted with winter tires (also known as snow tires) to ensure the best grip to the snowy and icy roads. Winter tires are more soft and flexible than other tires and have tread patterns specifically designed for the winter conditions. Don’t forget to have tire wear inspected and always have air pressure checked when tires are cold.
6. Lights & Signals – Run through all signal and light functions to ensure they are active. Be sure to replace any bulbs that are not working properly so that your car remains visible in poor weather conditions.
7. Windshield Washer & Wipers – Check wipers for wear and make sure the reservoir is filled with a non-freezing washer solvent during winter months. Twenty-four percent of all wiper blades checked before winter are found to be worn or damaged. Most blades need to be changed once every six to 12 months. It is best to upgrade to strong and durable winter wiper blades to help reduce ice and slush build up as you drive.
8. Heater/Defroster – The heater and defroster must be in good working condition for passenger comfort and driver visibility. Check the front and rear defrost functions before the first freeze.
9. Engine Performance – Get engine drivability problems (hard starts, rough idling, stalling, diminished power, etc.) corrected at a good repair shop because cold weather only makes existing problems worse. Replace any dirty filters including air, fuel, Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV), etc.
10. Emergencies – Carry gloves, boots, blankets, flares, a first aid kit, a small shovel, sand or kitty litter, tire chains, a flashlight and a cell phone in your car at all times during the winter. Put a few “high-energy” snacks in your glove box just in case you become stranded for long periods of time. Never leave the house without being properly dressed in warm winter apparel even if you are just traveling down the block.
All of these tips are suggested to compliment your car’s preexisting functions that make winter driving possible. Always be sure to prepare your car for the season’s unpredictable weather to ensure the safety of you and all your passengers. If you need assistance performing any of the tests and winter adaptations as described see your local ASE certified technician.…
Audi A3 Deals – Used Audis at Dealer Wholesale Prices
Rusty April 12, 2021 ArticleWith its heady design, engineering and technology concepts in glorious display, Audi pushed the envelope even further, by outfitting the 3.2 V6 with the much lauded DSG transmission available in the TT 3.2 and, as an option, in the 2.0T version. The Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) automatic transmission, inspired by Audi racing technology going back to the 1980’s, features an electro-hydraulically controlled twin clutch that is designed to allow lightning-fast gear changing with no traction loss. Combined with quattro all wheel drive, the match makes for a genuinely high end sports car experience.
The new 2.0 T FSI engine, standard A3 auto fare, having made its debut in the 2005 A4, is no slouchy performer either. This widely acclaimed and generously awarded Audi power plant is turbocharged, delivering 200 horsepower with 207 lbs of maximum torque available across a wide speed range from 1,800 to 5,000 RPM. The 2.0 T FSI was the first production engine ever to turbocharge a direct injection hook up and is largely responsible for the myriad of International Engine of the Year awards it bagged from 2005 through 2009. This technology, which found its way from the Audi R8 of Le Mans fame is not exclusively notable for its extreme high performance prowess, but substantially noted, as well, for its excellent fuel economy.
From 2006 through 2009, A3 cars remained fairly unchanged in their North American packages, with both the 2.0 T’s and 3.2 V6’s versions respectively holding solid ground. This is a vivid indication that Audi delivered a hands down winner to the North American market which, incidentally, provides a much less obstructed line of sight when it comes to parsing secondhand Audi A3 candidates, having considerably less bothersome detail to sort through. That brings us to 2010, which was a memorable year for the A3 auto. Scratching the 3.2 V6 quattro from the lineup, Audi did something most ardent Audi enthusiasts have been clamoring for. They rolled out the A3 TDI diesel.
This groundbreaking power plant quickly propelled the Audi A3 TDI to stardom in claiming recognition for 2010 Green Car of the Year, awarded by . The Audi 2.0 TDI, available in North American market A3 cars, delivers 146 horsepower with 236 lb-ft or torque, yet achieves an amazing EPA estimated 42 mpg highway, the best of any luxury class vehicle available in America. Employing 50 state US legal clean diesel technology, it motors 50% greater mileage than any comparable gasoline driven vehicle.
Taking all into account, or at least some of it, it’s hard to resist firing up the car search engines to try and snag an attractive deal for a secondhand Audi A3. The A3 auto offers a full load of that exclusive European luxury car sex appeal with its over the top Audi design and technology derivatives, yet, delivers big time on the usability scale and, last but not least, it emerges provocatively on the fun side of genuine high end sports car legend.…
With gas prices increasing and growing environmental awareness, the need to consider alternate energy and fuel sources are becoming a necessity. One alternative is the use of Biodiesel fuel, which is becoming more and more popular today.
Because Biodiesel is a cleaner-burning diesel fuel, made from 100% natural, 100% renewable vegetable sources, its uses in today’s society may surprise you. Below are nine ways Biodiesel is being used. Some of which you may never have realized.
1) Biodiesel Car Rental – Yes that’s right. A Maui and Los Angeles car rental rents cars that run on Biodiesel. These cars get between 400 and 800 miles per tank! Not bad when consider the price of gas these days.
2) Home heating fuel – More people are taking a look at Biodiesel as an alternative for heating their home. Most oil-fired or boiler furnaces can use Biodiesel (B20), which is a fuel made of 80 percent traditional heating oil and 20 percent Biodiesel. Some people are getting their furnaces adapted to be able to burn B100, a fuel made entirely of vegetable oils, which burns much cleaner than traditional heating oil.
3) Electricity Generation – Diesel generators that produce electricity are now running on Biodiesel fuel. A superior alternative to the typical coal burning electricity generating plants currently being used in the United States. Running on Biodiesel is an inexpensive, clean and renewable way of creating electricity.
4) Trucking Industry – More and more truckers are switching from diesel fuel to Biodiesel fuel. The benefits are numerous not to mention the advantage of helping the environment and reducing our dependency on foreign oil, while saving money.
5) Agriculture – Not only a producer of Biodiesel, but also a consumer. Tractors, reapers, tillers, pickers, conveyors, generators, pumps, and irrigation systems which normally uses diesel fuel, now use Biodiesel to fuel their work, bringing agriculture full circle from producer to consumer.
6) Marine Vehicles – Commercial fleets such as ferries, recreational yachts, sailboats, and motor boats are all candidates for Biodiesel. For example Pacific Whale Foundation, located in Hawaii, use Biodiesel bin their boats.
7) Tax Incentive – The IRS is offering tax incentives to anyone that produce and use Biodiesel fuel. The US Government is working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by giving producers of Biodiesel fuel government funds. The tax incentive works to help tax paying customers by lowering the cost of the fuel
bill.
8) Lubrication Additive – Because Biodiesel is a better lubricant than current low-sulfur petroleum, fuel injectors and other types of fuel pumps can rely on Biodiesel fuel for lubrication. With the right additives, engine performance can also be enhanced, making engines last longer. Other numerous applications can also make use of it’s lubricate properties, such as concrete forms and asphalt trucks. Its solvent properties also make it a safe parts cleaner, reducing skin and eye irritation associated with other cleaners.
9) Cleaner Environment – Biodiesel reduces carbon dioxide exhaust emissions by up to 80%. Because of this, Biodiesel has the potential to reduce air toxics and cancer causing compounds. Something we all can live with! If spilled, it will quickly degrade into natural organic residues, without polluting the environment.…

Anyone who has had to drive their car in cold, winter weather knows the importance of heat in their vehicle. While heat is going to help you to stay warm as you drive around town, it will also help to make your driving safer. There are various ways for you to use heat to be safe on the roads.
These various locations all provide different benefits, as far as heat and the safety of the vehicle is concerned. The rear window defrost, general heater, and side mirrors are all important locations to consider when thinking about heat and your vehicle.
Rear Window Defrost
The rear window defrost is one of the most important aspects of the vehicle, especially for those who do not have wind-shield wipers on the back of their vehicle. This makes it easier for individuals to see out the back window in cases of frost, ice, or temperature changes. The rear window defroster helps to take away any cloudiness that may fog up the vehicle, and will make it easier for individuals to chip away at ice and snow that has built up on the back of the window.
Heater
The actual heater for the car is, of course, the most important heating element in the vehicle. It can help to keep your body warm and can help to keep your feet warm. Most importantly, it can help to keep your front windshield and side windows warm. This works exactly was the rear window defrost works. It helps to keep the windows from fogging up, and also helps to make it easier to remove ice and snow from the windshield. While the car needs to be running for a short period of time before this heater truly kicks in, it is the most powerful and the most beneficial of the three.
Side Mirror Defrost
One type of defrost that many fails to think about when thinking about the heating systems for their windows is the side mirror defrost. This helps to defrost the side mirrors of the vehicle, helping to keep them clear of any potential snow or ice or fog during driving. This is especially important for those who are driving in continuously bad driving conditions. It helps to prevent any build up, making your drive as safe as possible.
It is important for you to check to make sure that these various parts work before you decide to purchase a used car. This can be difficult for those who are purchasing a used car in warm weather – how can you tell if the defrosts work or not? Simply take the vehicle into a mechanic and ask them to check these various parts as they work to check the entire vehicle. They will be able to tell you whether or nor the defrosters on the vehicle are in operating order.…
It is quite common for individuals to choose used cars versus new cars. The logic behind this is because a used car is far cheaper than something that is brand-new. Most people do not have thousands of dollars that they can pay for a vehicle. There is generally nothing wrong with purchasing a used car whether it is two years old, or 10 years old. The only thing that matters is whether or not the car is in good working order and it is being sold for an affordable price.
There are numerous amounts of different used cars for sale on the market. It is very important to make an informed choice. Consider taking the vehicle to a mechanic prior to deciding whether or not this is something that you would like to drive on a daily basis. In the end, once you purchase the vehicle, the vehicle as well as any problems that it may have are going to be all yours. Many people shop for used cars as a means to transport themselves back and forth to work. After all, if we are only using the vehicle as a commuter car, it would not make a lot of sense to spend a lot of money.
Some families have several children. Therefore, they do not have enough money to purchase a spanking new vehicle to transport their family where ever they need to go. This is another reason why families turn to used cars as an affordable way to drive a nice car without having to spend large amounts of money. It is vital to make sure that the vehicle has been properly maintained and cared for. Do not purchase a car that has a large number of miles on the engine. For example, a vehicle over over 100,000 miles is most likely not going to be a wise decision.
The next thing to be considered is the type of gas mileage that the vehicle is going to get. After all, the price of petrol is not coming down anytime soon. It would be a shame to have a car that we could not have enough money to drive. When buying a vehicle, it is imperative to make an sensible decision because this is what is going to be our main form of transportation until we can come up with the money to pay for another vehicle. If we take good care of our used car, it is going to take good care of us.…
What Things To Look For When Selecting An Auto Insurance Agent
Rusty March 26, 2021 ArticleSelecting a new car insurance provider can be a hassle if you don’t know what to look for. We have compiled a list of tips that you can use to help you better get results when looking for a new auto insurance agent.
The first thing is to look at the company that the agent works for. What is the track record of this company? Do they sell on the public stock exchange? These are some questions that can help you determine the stability of this company so that you can feel confident about the company you end up going with. It is important to pick a company that has a long track record of longevity as you want to be able to know that they will be around in the future to take care of you when you really need it.
The next thing is to learn about your agent. While experience always helps, it isn’t everything when it comes to picking an honest and trustworthy individual. The biggest quality you want to make sure the agent has is a compassionate heart. The reason for this is that if you get hurt, they will fight their own company to make sure you get taken care of. This type of person in your corner really comes in handy to make sure you get taken care of when an accident does indeed happen.
The last thing is to pick a place that has low plan rates. This will be easier to obtain if you have a clean driving record yourself. As you can see, there are some ways to make sure you pick the best people out there.…
There are few things people look forward to more than time away from work on vacation. Taking a break from the daily grind and spending time in a new location or a place you know will relax you is a sure cure for stress and anxiety. Unfortunately, life sometimes interferes and even with the best-planned vacations, emergencies can occur. If you are planning a vacation and you want to make sure you are prepared for anything that can occur, consider a few of the following scenarios and how you will handle them if they happen while you are traveling. One of the most common unexpected events on vacation is car breakdowns. If you have traveled far and needed to rent a car, the rental agency will likely handle any auto repair that is needed. However, if you have driven to your destination and you have a breakdown, you will need to find an auto service to help you get your car back on the road. Consider having your car looked over about a week before you leave in an effort to head off any problems before they inconveniently occur.
Another common mishap on vacation is a lost wallet or identification. This can be scary if it happens because you will be left far from home with no way of returning and no money to spend. Before leaving, speak with your credit card company about the protection they offer if something should happen. Even if you are not planning to pay with a credit card on your trip, it is a good idea to have a backup plan. Find out from the company what coverage they provide should your card be stolen. They may be able to wire you a replacement after your old card has been cancelled. It is also a good idea to separate your money and identifications into two separate places. This way if your purse or wallet is stolen, you will have some money and means of ID waiting back at your hotel.
While you may not be thinking about it, mugging and robbery are pretty common when traveling. There is a list of risky things you should avoid to help things go smoothly while traveling. If you are leaving the country and staying at an all-inclusive island resort, be sure you stay on the resort’s property. If you are traveling in a strange city, be conscious of what is happening around you and know where your purse and wallet are at all times. Also make sure you lock up the valuables in your hotel room when you leave. Most hotels provide safes that have combinations which are set by the user each time they are used.
One of the mishaps that can strike while on vacation is sickness. This is somewhat unavoidable, but you can take a few steps to make it better. Drink bottled water when drinking in regions where the supply is risky. Bring along some basic over-the-counter remedies for nausea, headaches, and the common cold. Finally, boost your immunity by taking vitamin C in the days before and during your vacation.
If you are traveling with kids, there is a chance family squabbles could disrupt the calm of the vacation. Agree ahead of time that everyone will do their best to get along and keep the vacation pleasant. This way you can get the most from your trip.…
Sometimes it is necessary to bring your vehicle in to the mechanic between regularly scheduled appointments. Having your oil and other fluids changed regularly is great but there are a few tell tale signs of an issue that should not be put off until the next time you are planning to go in. These are indications that there could be a serious problem. If any of these happen while driving pull over or get to an auto repair shop quickly so that you are safe and you do not further damage anything.
Squealing brakes are a bad sign. If when the pedal is depressed there is a high pitched screech or a whistle it could mean that the pads are incredibly low and need to be replaced as quickly as possible. Additionally, if the pedal feels squishy it is likely that the same sort of problem is happening. In either case pull over or get straight to the mechanic because this is not something to be taken lightly.
Similarly, any time there is a rattling, a clunking, or a grinding coming from under the hood or under the car it may be indicative that there is a need for auto repair. Any number of things could be wrong or in some cases something could have come unattached. One possibility is that the head gasket is blown and that is a serious problem. If you are unsure what is going on or if the sound is accompanied by a decrease in performance have the car towed to the nearest service station.
It should go without saying but if the oil or check engine light come on it is imperative that those things happen. Many think they can ignore these warnings but in reality they are a good indicator, obviously, that something is not right. Quickly and carefully bring the vehicle straight to the auto repair station and have them determine what has caused the warning to illuminate. Often it is not something terribly wrong but rather something that if left unchecked could lead to a more serious issue.
Finally if it takes a long time to start or won’t start at all it is necessary to have auto repair done. It may be something as simple as a low battery or an old sparkplug but on the other hand there could be a need for alternator maintenance or replacement. In some cases the belt may have broken and the battery was drained trying to compensate.
Regardless of which of these happen, they are all four a sign that now is the time to go in and have service done, even if it is not scheduled yet. Fixing the problem now can avoid cost and inconvenience down the line and that is not something anyone wants to have to deal with.…
If you’re looking for ways to lower your annual car insurance then try following these steps:
1. Increase your deductible – By giving yourself the lowest deductible possible you’re also increasing the risk that your insurance company takes when they insure you. The deductible is basically the amount you need to pay before your policy becomes active, so if you have a high deductible, and suffer a minor crash, you might not be able to claim for it, but doing so will save you money on your policy. Remember that their increased risk means your increased cost.
2. Park your car off the road, ideally in a garage – This is the simplest way of reducing your insurance premium, and is also the best way to stop your car getting stolen. Why would a thief chose to break into your garage when there are 10 other cars on the same street? The answer – they wouldn’t. Doing this can take up to 20% of the cost off of your premium and is something everyone should do.
3. Don’t settle for the first offer – Make sure you look around as many insurance companies as you can when looking for a quote. Being ruthless save a lot of money, so don’t feel like you have to be loyal to any one company – insurance is a dog eat dog world. Shopping around for a bargain and getting multiple quotes can be very rewarding in the long run.
4. Take an extra driving course – Taking a defensive driving course is one of the big secrets to getting a low car insurance price. You can volunteer for defensive driving courses which can lower your insurance premium by over 10%.…
How to buy car insurance is just as important as buying life and health insurance, it protects the immediate beneficiary from harm or damage that would occur under normal circumstances. And even though people may be positive about their lives accidents do happen and the worst thing about them is they do so unexpectedly.
In the event of you becoming skeptical about how you drive or what risks other drivers pose to you the next step you must take is to make sure that you get an insurance company that works for you and your needs. And whilst most companies might appear perfect and affordable this is not a given. A careful and thorough selection process must be followed in order for you to get insured with a reliable insurance company.
Once you have decided to conduct thorough research you must then consult with an insurance consultant who will show you the ropes in the world of insurance. An insurance consultant will tell you of all the most important insurance companies out there as well as give you quotations for all of the selected companies.
The next step is to go back home and make your choice. Why it is insisted you do this is because you need to think long and hard about which company you choose. The company you choose will determine how much you will have to now put on the side for insurance. You might also be sharing the insurance cost with a husband or partner who will also want a say in the process of choosing.
But you must at least talk to a neutral third party who should give you an unbiased view pertaining the company of your choice. He or she might have been defrauded or failed to get compensation for harm perpetrated against them. So their opinion will be of great value to you.
It is only at this stage that you should make a choice and buy. Phone the insurance company and set up an appointment for signing paperwork and finalization procedures. And when you go to buy the policy you should remember carry with you your identity documents; license and vehicle registration number.
Buying insurance this way has so many benefits. But the most important advantage is that you will make an informed and patient choice as well as learn useful information on insurance that can help you in the future when making insurance claims.…
Ads On Wheels: Vehicle Wrapping As A Marketing Tool
Rusty March 9, 2021 ArticleIn comes vehicle wrap. Because people are almost always mobile, advertisers have come up with a novel way of getting their messages across — that is, by literally keeping up with rush hour speeds. Vehicle wrap is a method that moulds self-adhesive vinyl into the bodywork of any vehicle to make it appear like it was simply painted on. The ‘wrap’ can contain all kinds of prints, from the owner’s favorite cartoon character, or, if he’s that vain, a blow-up photo of himself. Most importantly, it can carry advertisements.
The best thing about vehicle wrap advertisements is that they move with the consumer. Imagine getting stuck in traffic and not seeing anything else but the annoying bumper sticker on the car in front of you. A van wrapped with colorful graphics will be a welcome sight.
If your company information were part of the body that made up this interesting design, you can rest assured that your logo will be on people’s minds until they reach home. When a vehicle is transformed into a mobile billboard, traffic will become less of a headache for everyone.
Vehicle wrap advertisements benefit both the consumer and the vehicle owner. Potential buyers are afforded more information about a particular product while on the road, while car owners get to profit from agreeing to carry the ad. Right now, the largest vehicle wrap companies are 3M, Arlon, and Avery Dennison.
The average price of a full vehicle wrap is $3000. It sounds costly at first, but when you factor in the number of people who will get a glimpse of your product, as opposed to handing out flyers or installing posters, the expense is just pennies.…
Headlights are a safety issue on the highways. You don’t want to be caught unawares when darkness falls and you find that your headlights are unable to pierce the pitch dark envelope ahead and to your sides. It can be a frightening experience to drive through a sheet of rain or an impenetrable covering of fog or mist, especially when your headlights or the battery is old. The standard halogen lights have severe disadvantages. These draw a heavy current and throw far less light than you’d like to have. The bulbs do not last very long and the battery is at times unable to supply as much current as the headlights demand. The net result is very unsavory. It’s quite likely that you may have to pull off the road till the driving conditions improve. However, the HID headlight kits will change all that now. Each kit consists of two HID headlight bulbs, two ballasts and two ballast mounting brackets. The HID bulbs throw 300% more light than the standard halogen bulbs. The current drawn by the HID lights is 35% less than the earlier lights. There is therefore far less load on the battery and this is a good thing especially if your battery is getting on in years.
The average life of HID headlights is 3000 hours of use or 5-10 years and this is considerably more than the standard bulbs you’ve been using so far. The hid headlight kits are smart to look at too and can be installed without carrying out any modification or splicing. You can easily find out the HID equivalent for your automobile bulbs by looking up the bulb guide. You’ll find a large range of HID light bulbs and xenon conversion kits that includes H1 HID, H3 HID and H4, H7, H8, H9 and H10 HID kits. These are all made using the best quality material and craftsmanship.

Kuna and Canyon County has already begun with vehicle emissions testing and repairs on June 2010. It is the first time that Nampa, Idaho, has required its vehicle drivers to have their cars tested ever since it has established that emissions from vehicles contributed to the area’s air pollution. There are many Nampa emissions repairs and testing stations already servicing many vehicle drivers due to this mandatory law.
Vehicle emissions control has been studied for many years now, and its main goal is to reduce the polluting emissions that vehicles powered by internal combustion engines create and release out to the air. There are many pollutants extracted from cars that are especially important to note down when the health of the people, animals, and the environment is at stake. The most principal of these include hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, and particulates.
Hydrocarbons come from fuel that is either unburned or partially burned. They are toxic, and can cause liver damage and cancer to people exposed to the pollutant more than is necessary. Regulations concerning hydrocarbons depends upon the engine off the vehicle. Carbon monoxide, on another hand, is not as fatal as hydrocarbons. But it lessens the blood’s abilities to carry oxygen throughout our body, and too much carbon monoxide can be fatal to us. Nitrogen oxide is a precursor to acid rain and smog. It is emitted mostly by big vehicles and trucks that blow hot exhaust. The effect of nitrogen oxides to our system is that it destroys resistance to any respiratory infections. Particulates also bring harm to our respiratory health.
With the harm and dangers that these gaseous chemicals give us, it is only understandable that health organizations and environmentalists have taken action against them. The continuing pollution of the air has always been a problem. It has become increasingly problematic as more toxicity has been found in the air.
Not all officials of Nampa had been supportive of the law that states that emissions testing is now mandatory for all vehicle drivers of Kuna and Canyon County. The majority has decided, however, and the law was approved. Not everyone of the folks at the specified areas were also unhappy about the new law. Considering the environmental and physical health effects of the pollutants, this move was bound to happen sooner or later. By the start of the month of June, emissions control and testing began to be carried out.
Vehicles that need to be tested are those that are cars from 1981 to 2005. Hybrid cars are exempted from emissions testing. There is also a fee of $10 for the testing. Drivers only need to have their vehicles tested every other year, so 10 bucks is not that costly. This year, even numbered cars are the ones required to take the emissions control and testing. Cars from 1982, 1984, up to 2000 and 2002 will need to make that visit to the Nampa emissions testing station. Next year, it will be the odd numbered cars’ turn.…
Rust is not an uncommon problem to old cars that are usually left out in the rain or not stored in the garage. Years of exposure to wind and other forces of nature can dilute a car’s protective coat of paint, leaving the surface vulnerable to corrosion. Once the metallic layer of the car’s surface is exposed to moisture, oxidation takes place and eventually leads to the formation of rust. This is common to most types of metal.
Fortunately, there are ways to restore the brand-new look of the rusted cars. However, since some severe rust buildups are no longer treatable by any restoration methods, it is important to deal with the problem as early as possible. Few materials are needed to remove the rust, as well as restore the beauty of the car’s appearance. These materials include sandpaper, primer and car paint, a clean piece of cloth, and a vacuum cleaner.
The procedure can be easily completed in your garage at home. There are auto body repair shops in affluent cities like Beverly Hills that offer modernized techniques of restoring the appearance of a car after years of rust-caused damage. These services are often more expensive compared to traditional repairs done in other shops. Nonetheless, for those with tight budgets, here’s a DIY method for removing rust from a car’s surface.
First, check for spots that are affected by rust buildup and spots that are already severely faded. Start rubbing the rusted region with 120-grade sandpaper and a hard rubber block, until the rust is gone. Professional cleaners in a Beverly Hills auto body shop use masks to keep themselves from inhaling rust dust.
Wipe the surface with a clean cloth properly to prepare it for coating. Shake the primer container thoroughly before spraying the primer on the portions to be painted. Like other painting companies, most Beverly Hills auto repair shops use primer to maximize the adhesive property of the paint.
After allowing the primer to completely dry, smooth the surface by rubbing with fine-grade sandpaper. Once the surface is ready, spray the paint on the surface at a distance of 6 to 8 inches, to control the paint’s impact on the surface. Most Beverly Hills auto repair experts prefer to do second paint applications to completely balance the color and shading of the paint.…
Flat tires can be a stressful and scary situation, especially if one occurs while driving. The article below outlines helpful tips for drivers in regards to tire maintenance, tire changing steps, and post-flat information.
The most important thing a driver can do is know their vehicle and know the most common mileage for tire rotations, tire inflations, and when to get new tires altogether. According to vehicle websites, the recommended mileage for tire rotations is between every 3,000 to 5,000 miles. This can be done with each oil change. However, in the vehicle owner’s handbook, your manufacturer will give you their recommended mileage intervals which the driver should try to follow. Tire pressure directly correlates with the gas mileage you will get and is important to pay close attention to for safety reasons as well. With low tire pressure, the car’s weight may not be spread evenly on the treads, causing extra wear to certain parts of the tire. Performance and safety are affected, as is the overall handling of your vehicle. Tire pressure is so significant to your vehicle’s performance and reaction to dangerous situations that states that soon, the government “is going to require that tire-pressure monitoring systems be standard in all new vehicles, and 30 percent happens to be the maximum amount that it feels is safe to allow for under-inflation.” It is recommended to check your tire pressure at least once a month and also pay attention to uneven wear patterns on your tires.
Tire treads are also important to check frequently before your tires have no traction left. Traction is necessary for winter driving, driving in rainy conditions, off-road situations, and for safe stops and starts. To check your tread depth, you should purchase either an inexpensive gauge or do the infamous “penny test.” To check it with the penny, stick the coin upside-down in the middle and the outside tread grooves. If you can see Lincoln’s entire head, it is time for new tires. Not sure if you are doing these checks correctly? Remember, these are preventative services that your repair shop will do quickly to keep your vehicle and you safe. Likewise, keeping tabs on the condition of your tires and knowing which ones to use for winter driving make a huge difference in how your vehicle will react should you need to make an accident avoidance maneuver. Preventative maintenance is the best way to cure any major car problems. Service your vehicle regularly and be sure your repair shop checks for those minor issues ahead of time. These preventative maintenance checks should be done with each oil change at quite frequent intervals and should include looking at things like your breaks, battery and cables, tire inflation and condition, exhaust, all fluids, and lights.
The most important thing is very simply to get to know your car. How many of us even look at our tires? They are just a part of the car – you walk around and jump in day after day. Many issues with tires may not be noticeable without bending over, spinning the tire, and taking a close look, but some are. Be sure to make an appointment for service if you feel anything odd when driving. Even more than just when driving, be sure to get to know your vehicle by reading the manual. Many people forget about reading this significant tool and it ends up in the glove box with other paperwork, receipts, napkins, and maps. Know what the recommended mileage intervals are, know where important items are located in your vehicle for maintenance or emergencies, and know what the lights mean on your dashboard.
So how does one change a tire? Again, before you get into this situation, know where all of the tools are to change the tire – don’t just assume that it’s all in the trunk because if you have a newer vehicle, truck, or SUV, they probably aren’t in the trunk at all. Be sure you know where the spare tire is and its capabilities, and the jack to go along with it, the lugnut wrench, a flashlights, and lights or flares. First, set aside an hour on a nice day and take out all of the necessary tools and lay them out. Check to ensure that everything is in good shape and is present. Second, put the car in park and set the emergency break. Park on flat ground and block the wheels with a rock or piece of wood no matter what. Verify that you have working flares and prepare to remove the tire. Then, with the lugnut wrench, remove the hubcap from the tire. Simply loosen the lugnuts that are holding the wheel in place. About A turn clockwise should do the trick. Do not completely remove the lugnuts …

The United States Government has a policy that the cars of their agencies and departments can only be used so long. After they finish their service life, even if they are in great condition, they must be retired, and replaced by a newer model. When a government vehicle is retired, it is disposed of by way of a public auction where members of the public can bid on and purchase the vehicles.
Government auctions are held in all fifty states because the government has fleets stationed in every state, for the use of its agencies, and they do not want to have to transport retired vehicles to one central location for auction. The auctions are held several times a year, because vehicles are always reaching the end of their service life.
Before a government auction starts, you are allowed to inspect the vehicles that are going to be auctioned off, to see if they have any serious problems that may affect function or safety. This is rare because government vehicle are well maintained, and kept in top condition. It is advisable to bring someone who knows about cars to the auction with you to check them out if you are not mechanically inclined.
When the bidding starts, it starts cheap. People bid on the cars until someone is the high bidder, and that high bidder takes the car home for the price of his bid, no matter how much below the retail price of the car his bid is. Most of the time, the final bid is several thousand dollars less than the current value of the car, and sometimes it dips drastically lower than that.…
Did you know there were dozens of microchips in your car, sending signals to the main computer in it? Did you realize a computer was involved when you pulled on the handle of your sliding door and it shut automatically? Or how about when you went to back up, but a sensor went off because there was something small in the driveway that you did not see? Now there are even sensors that tells you when you driving into the other lane. Computers are present in a lot more components of your vehicle than you may have realized at first.
Did that sliding door get stuck halfway open this morning? Did the backup alarm keep going off, even though you were moving forward? Sounds like you need computer diagnostics to figure out exactly what is wrong. There are ASE technicians who are trained specifically to handle the electronic and computerized parts of the car. Diagnosing and finding a computer glitch can be trickier than you realized at first. It does take special training to be certified in these types of repairs, so check with the company where you are planning on taking your vehicle to make sure they have trained professionals.
Just like when your laptop at home does not function properly because of a circuit connection gone bad, your car can have the same thing happen. It takes a specialist to trace through your circuits and to spot exactly what and where the problem lays. Once they find it, then it can be repaired – usually pretty quickly. The hard part is finding exactly where the problem lays. That is also where the expense comes in – the time it takes the technician to locate the problem before it can be fixed.
How do they find a computer diagnostic problem? The vehicle is hooked up to a few different machines. The machines hook to the electronic system in the vehicle and look for codes or error messages to come up. The code can contain the location and the problem detected in your car. The technician can then get in to that location, check the wires and see where the problem is. It might be a quick and easy fix or it could be a larger problem, which requires a new computer chip or program installed in to your vehicle. Unfortunately, you won’t know anything until you have it checked out and evaluated, unless you happen to know computers and vehicles yourself!…
To buy a car for cheap, you need to learn a few secrets. First, skip the car dealers and the private owner classified ads. You need to find the below the radar way of doing things. As in other areas of life these days, the cheapest way to buy anything is by auction. Now, there are many different kinds of auctions and most of them will save you a few bucks on your new-to-you car. You can participate in on-line auctions or visit your local, small auction house. With both of these options, your selection will be more limited and it may take quite a while to find a car that suits you. There is one place, however, that you can get the very best deal around. You need to check out government repossession auctions. Have you heard that they will give you the opportunity to pick up the vehicle you need practically at a steal?
Before you hit the auctions though, you must learn how to navigate. How easy is it to buy a car at an auction?
Number four: Repossession cars are just that – cars that have been pre-owned and then repossessed. They are usually in good shape and tend to be the newer models. This is great because you may be able to get more car for your budget than you thought. Everybody wants more car, right?
Number three: You need to know what kind of car you wish to buy before you go. When you come to an auction, there won’t be anyone to give you facts and figures or to check the car over. You might want to consider hiring a local mechanic (or a car-savvy friend) to come with you to auctions. At the end of the day, if you bid on a car and win the auction, you must pay for it and take it home. There is no buyer’s remorse or warranty possible here. Do you know one of the best ways to be happy with the car you buy?
Number two: Don’t get too excited about any one car at an auction. If other bidders start to drive the price up, drop out. There will always be another car and another auction. Don’t overpay. The whole idea behind shopping auto auctions is to buy a car for cheap. It’s easy to get carried away, but then you might as well go to a dealer and spend your money there. Get it fixed in your mind that you are there to spend as little as possible! Have at least a few cars that are listed in the auction in mind and set your absolute highest price firmly and don’t go over. And did you know the number one thing to bring to the auction with you?
Number one: Be sure you have your car loan approved ahead of time. Shopping on the internet is the very best way to get the car of your dreams, with the best loan. Do you know where to go to find auto loans?…
Public auction cars can be a good deal if you are looking to purchase a used car and know what you are doing. Today more than ever before, there are many vehicles that have been repossessed due to our current economy.
Sadly, many people have experienced difficult times due to job loss or pay cuts and the once affordable vehicle they used to drive is no longer feasible for their monthly budget. Once they get behind it causes a downward spiral affect with a person’s car payments and many just can’t get caught up.
This leads to the bank reclaiming the vehicle through repossession. Once the bank has taken the car back, it can be expensive for the bank to store the vehicle and advertise it for sale.
Most of the time it’s easier for the banks to take the car to the auction where they can sell it quickly and try to recoup their money.
Here are some helpful suggestions before you purchase a public auction car.
To begin with, it helps to know ahead of time what type of car, truck, or SUV you are interested in. Do your research to determine what vehicle will meet your needs and wants before you get to the auction.
Don’t take chances paying more than what the vehicle is really worth.
It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of an auction and overpay for your car when the bidding gets fast.
It’s a good idea to look up the vehicle’s value online so you are prepared with a dollar figure before you go to the auction. This will help stop you from over-bidding as well as tell you if you are getting a good deal or not.
Don’t be afraid to walk away from a vehicle if the bidding is much higher than what you want to pay.
This brings me to my next point…
Because you will be purchasing a vehicle as is, it is a good idea to bring someone with you that knows about cars. If you have a friend or relative that is somewhat mechanical ask them to attend the auction along with you.
The two of you should arrive to the auction early so that the mechanically inclined friend can check under the hood of a few choices you find that you are interested in. Do not be intimidated or afraid to check the car over as thoroughly as is possible.
Crawl under the car and check out the undercarriage, looking for excessive rusting. Pull on wires and hoses under the hood to be sure things look solid and in good condition.
Check and double check. Buying public auction cars can only be a good deal if the car is going to carry you down the highway without breaking down.
If you get the car at a good price but then have to dump a lot of money into it for repairs, it could end up being an expensive way to purchase a car.
Finally, be prepared to pay for the car that day.
Most auctions do not take credit cards and it is almost unheard of that you can get any type of financing with public auction cars. Therefore it is a good idea to have cash or a check on hand before going to the auction.
Public auction cars can be a good deal by simply following these few instructions. Now, have fun bidding and best wishes for finding that sweet deal on your next ride.…
3 Ways to Save Money at a Government Car Auction
Rusty February 2, 2021 ArticleGovernment car auctions are a great way to save thousands off your next car. But, do you know how to maximize your savings even further when you get there? Go over these 3 tips that will give you the upper hand when while attending your next federal auction.
1. Get there early: Getting to the auction on time is essential when it comes to saving money. Not only will it give you enough time to fully inspect all of the cars that catch your eye, it will also give you the opportunity to spy on the competition. Meaning, that you’ll be able to see what cars are popular and discover just how attached other bidders are to them. So, if you see a car with a lot of interested buyers that keep coming back, just know that a bidding war is soon to occur. And that’s not the car you want to end up overpaying for. On the other hand, if you see a car that hardly anybody is interested in, know that you’re bound to save hundreds and even thousands off it’s Kelly’s Blue Book value.
2. CAR FAX is your friend: Although most car auction cars are in good condition, some have been in accidents, have had major repairs or even been in floods! So, bust out your smart phone and do a quick CAR FAX report on any car that you plan on buying… it can save you thousands in unwanted future repairs.
3. Stick to your budget: Having and sticking to a budget is one of the most important things you can do while attending a car auction. It’s all too easy to fall in love with a car, get sidetracked, end up in a bidding war and end up paying way more than you can actually afford.
So, stick to a budget, do a CAR FAX report and get there early and you’ll be sure to save at the next federal car auction you attend.…
Why it’s a great idea for you to change the oil every 3,000 miles:
Like most U.S. drivers – more than 80% of drivers, according to a recent study – drive under SEVERE conditions, as defined in most owners’ manuals. In other words, for most drivers “severe” is “normal.”
Sampling of Automaker oil change recommendations for NORMAL and SEVERE driving:
AUTOMAKER, Normal, Severe
FORD, 7500, 3000
CHRYSLER, 5000, 3000
TOYOTA, 5000, 3000
NISSAN, 7500, 3750
NOTE: Typical automaker recommendations (can vary by model, engine, etc.)
A Word on Oil Change Indicator Lights
While we believe most consumers can rely on these indicator lights, we decided to stick with the 3,000 miles interval – to be safe and reflect the way most people drive. Typically, such systems continuously monitor everything from vehicle speed, rpm, oil and coolant temperature – to calculate motor oil additive degradation. At Valvoline’s laboratory and engine testing facilities we’ve NEVER seen an engine failure when the oil is changed at 3,000 miles using quality Valvoline products.
Older vehicles, older recommendations
Want another reason to change the oil every 3,000 miles? The median age of passenger cars in operation in the U.S. was 9.4 years in 2008, according to R. L. Polk & Co. Just over 41 percent of all cars were 11 years or older. Automakers recommended the 3,000 mile oil change interval for most of those 100 million older cars and trucks.
“Based on the uncertainty of what the future holds, consumers are trying to keep their current vehicles running longer, until their confidence improves,” said Dave Goebel, solutions consultant for Polk’s aftermarket team.
It kind of gives you a new perspective on recent automaker recommendations that raised the oil change interval, doesn’t it?
Why change the oil?
Oil is the lifeblood of your vehicles engine. Quality motor oil keeps engines clean by:
o Minimizing deposit formation;
o Reducing oil consumption by fighting volatility and oil evaporation;
o Resisting oil thickening by providing enhanced oxidation control;
o Suspending contaminants and keeping them from interfering with vital engine parts;
o Preventing sludge from forming;
Changing the oil and filter removes the suspended contaminants and replenishes the oil’s performance agents that get consumed.
Who says so?
The Car Care Council
The most recent National Car Care Month check lanes found that 32% of vehicles failed the inspection because of low, overfull or dirty motor oil. “The Car Care Council recommends changing your vehicle’s engine oil every 3,000 to 5,000 miles depending on the vehicles make and model, how you drive the vehicle and the conditions under which you drive,” the Council stated. “Always consult the owner’s manual.” Regular maintenance involves more than oil changes, too. Routine maintenance helps keep the vehicle safe and can save money. “Since four out of five vehicles checked need some type of service, it’s important to remind motorists that those who keep their cars, treat them as valuable investments and commit to regular vehicle maintenance, end up saving a lot of money,” according to the Council.
National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)
ASE’s mission is to improve the quality of vehicle repair and service through the testing and certification of repair and service professionals. ASE recommends changing your oil and filter as specified in your manual – more often if your driving is mostly stop-and-go or consists of frequent short trips. The Valvoline/ASE Poll of the American Mechanic consistently finds that the nations top mechanics (ASE Certified Master Automobile Technicians) overwhelmingly recommend regular oil changes as the most important thing consumers can do to make their cars perform and last longer.
A Leading Consumer Advocacy Magazine
A 2002 report documented problems with sludge relative to specific engines made by several manufacturers. The magazine recommended changing the oil on the “extreme” (or “severe”) schedule to protect those engines from sludge.…
With the term auction cars I mean vehicles purchased at a public auction. There are lots of different kinds of auctions where cars can be purchased for example, government auctions, police auctions, private auctions, military surplus auctions, bank auctions of repossessed vehicles and more.
One of the best places you can get good deals on new and used cars, is a government auction. To be more precise, what we’re talking about is making good bargains on high quality vehicles, seized in a government raid or for one reason or another have come into the possession of the federal government.
Government Auctions of Seized Cars
Government auctions are different from bank auctions of repossessed vehicles. Government car auctions consist of vehicles they have seized and want to get rid of so that they won’t take up space in government parking facilities. If they can make some money on these vehicles, why shouldn’t they?
That’s the reason they’ll take whatever bid they can get. This is not the case with a bank. Therefore it’s likely that you would get a better deal at government auctions than at a bank auction.
Online Car Auctions
Car auctions are held all over the country where people go and place their bids. However, not everyone lives nearby an auction site. Nevertheless, anyone who has a computer and an internet connection can still bid on a government auction. You even got the option of mailing your sealed bid for a vehicle in to the auction.
Government Surplus Auctions
Another way to purchase cheap but quality auction cars would be at a government surplus auction. If you are looking for great car deals you can also participate in a government surplus auction, which is a little different from seized car auctions. The reason the government arranges these auctions is because of their need for renewal of their own vehicles. When the government’s vehicles become too old to function properly, they need to replace them while the old are sold at surplus auctions. At surplus car auctions you can also get used vehicles fairly cheap.
Military Surplus Auctions
Another variation of government surplus auctions is the military vehicle auctions. Not all military vehicles are auctioned though. They don’t offer combat vehicles, but you can buy jeeps and other low end vehicles for a few dollars.
The Right Place for Super Bargains
It should be obvious that the reason people get so many good deals at government auctions is that the government’s intention is not to act like a business and maximize their profit but rather get a few dollars for a vehicle that is no longer up to their standards and cannot be used anymore.
So, why not take advantage of this, visit an auto auction house or go online and find cheap but decent auction cars at a government auction.…
Air pollution and environment destruction is one of the major concerns that envelop not only environment agencies and groups but even the automotive world is concerned. And just recently, the Environmental Protection Agency, or commonly called the EPA, of the United States along with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection have made sure that any illegal imported engines are stopped before they cross the borders of the country.
Mainly, this move is to actually stop entrance of these illegally imported engines from entering the country. Primarily, this is because the groups believe that these engines could actually mar the campaign towards cleaner air. Since these are crafted in other countries, the US specifications on engines would surely not be followed.
At present, the groups were able to seize the importing of over 11,000 pieces of illegal engines which have been created for gasoline cars and diesel vehicles. Other than that, they are also on the move towards stopping illegally imported parts which negatively impacted those reliable car parts stores that are dedicated to providing only the best service to car owners. This number is only what they were able to confiscate during the past nine months. And with such a campaign already working well, the numbers could still continue to rise.
These substandard equipment are actually seen as risks to campaigns and projects created by the U.S. public health as well as by groups concerned about the environment. Even Granta Y. Nakayaman, the EPA?s assistance administrator under the Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assistance, is concerned and avows, ?The Bush Administration will continue to enforce the Clean Air Act and stop illegal imports. The public?s assistance and cooperation, along with EPA?s commitment to enforcing these regulations, is essential to preserving and protecting the nation?s air quality.?
Aside from this, even the Clean Air Act or CAA which is a federal law, requires that all new gasoline engines as well as diesel engines that are created, distributed, or sold in the country should be able to meet the standards and requirements given out by EPA.…
You feel pretty good about your new tires you just picked up from a Utah auto repair shop. You paid a lot of money for them and want to keep those tires lasting for… well forever would be nice. Here are some tips to help keep your tires in good order, which will decrease your chance of getting a flat.
Before going further you need to make sure that you have the proper tools to change your tire if you do ever have a flat tire. Don’t forget to check the condition of your spare tire. If you don’t have a spare you’ll want to keep a 12 volt air pump and a can of fix-a-flat (you cannot patch a tire that has fix-a-flat in it) in your vehicle.
Periodically checking the tread depth is our first tip to avoiding a flat. To check, place a penny upside down in the tread. You’ll know it’s time to get new tires when you see the top of Lincoln’s head. Buying all 4 tires at the same time can save you some money, so don’t forget to rotate them. If you purchased your tires at a Utah auto repair shop, most will rotate the tires for free. This also helps you to avoid flats since you’re not wearing down the same spot for the life of the tire.
Tire rot is an issue that many people don’t know about. Tire rot is small cracks on the sidewall of a tire. This happens when the rubber breaks down, so if you have older tires take a look at the sidewalls.
Proper tire pressure keeps your tires lasting longer. Besides helping with gas mileage, properly inflated tires don’t cause as much stress to the sidewalls. Stress on the sidewall increases dry rot.
2007 model year vehicles and newer have a built in tire pressure monitoring system. You can also install an aftermarket tire pressure monitoring system for vehicles built before 2007.
Valve stems are next on the list. Dry rot can also appear in valve stems and cause them to fail. It takes about 10 minutes, at little cost, for your Utah auto repair shop to replace a valve stem.
Last on the list is to be careful of where you drive. Beware of pot holes, sharp rocks, bad train tracks, etc. Keep clear of construction areas where possible since you may pick up a nail or a staple. Take care of your tires and they will last longer and you’ll much more likely to avoid a flat.…
Original auto repair manuals are very important to car owners, whether they have a use for them or not. These are usually repair and service instruction booklets that in most cases a car owner will be provided for by the manufacturer on the initial purchase of the car. These manuals come in three various categories that include the general, maintenance, and repair manuals. The common type of manual that is gotten free with the purchase of a car is the general manual.
The function of a general manual is usually to provide specific information and instructions on all the major car parts of the particular model. These general car manuals give instructions on how the owner can make adjustments and easy to do repairs and the ways that they can make the.
In the case of a car repair manuals, these are specifically used when making major repairs to a car. Furthermore, it is mostly used by those who do the repairs to the cars. Although the instructions provide in these instruction booklets is not really for a precise car model, these car repair manuals maybe used by just about any car. They offer common information on a few car models on how to make repairs and the adjustment that may follow after the repairs. Where then can one buy genuine editions of these manual?
The best avenue for buying genuine repair instruction booklet is online. There is a wide collection of sites that offer factory and aftermarket repair guidebooks published by all car manufacturers. Moreover, it is these manufacturers’ manuals that they themselves use in their factories. The immobilizer system in VW and Audi prevent the engine from running unless an authorized key is used, and the key is properly matched to various components in the vehicle. Those components are the following: engine controller (ECU, PCM or car computer), the instrument cluster and the ignition keys.
In the USA and Canada, only those cars sold after 2000 are equipped with immobilizer systems, in Europe and other parts of the world immobilizer were used even before 2000.
VW and Audi dealerships can match keys to your car, and also independent auto repair shops such as your neighborhood repair shop can also match keys to the car with specialized VW and Audi equipment. These procedure needs to be done when getting new keys, replacing the instrument cluster or replacing the car computer or ECU.
There are 5 immobilizer generations in VW and Audi:
Immo-1: only found in Europe and some Mexican VWs, and was used in cars made before 2000
Immo-2,3 and 4: found in cars worldwide, SKC needed or way to get SKC code from cluster
(SKC are available from the dealership or can be extracted it from the cluster EPROM)
Immo-5: only found in certain Audi (R8, A6 and A8) starting 2008 and 2009
After getting new keys, keys need to be matched to your car (ecu and cluster), alarm remote control also needs to be match to the car.
Immobilizer system can also be removed altogether by tuning or replacing software in the ecu or car computer.…
The amount you pay for your auto insurance depends on several factors, including your age, gender marital status, where you are and what you are driving. You can’t change your age or gender, it wouldn’t be cost-effective to move off to another state to save a few bucks. The easiest ways to start saving is to choose a more economical vehicle that costs less to insure and to be a safer driver.
First, your vehicle is a big determining factor in how much you pay.Having a hot rod or a big Hummer may be a great status symbol, but it is a hefty price to pay for such luxury. When insurance companies make premiums they base part of what you pay on the price of the vehicle, and part on how expensive it is to be repaired. Vehicles which are the targets of theft also can factor in to the cost of your premium. How much each is factored in can depend on your insurer as well, so this is not a concrete formula on your car insurance premium.
Next, there are things you just can’t control. Even though these factors are the ones you can control the least, they have the greatest control on your insurance rates. For example, single males under the age of 25 pay the highest rates. I know this personally because I am 26, and the decrease was a great relief! The rates are so high for that demographic because statistically they are in the most wrecks. Since I became married to my wife in 2010, I got to enjoy another decrease as well, as married men are cheaper to insure than single. (I wonder why, no more girls to impress…) Don’t look so smug so quickly, ladies, as some states have adopted rates not based on age or gender, and this has caused the rates for the fairer sex to increase. At least this is a legitimate complaint you can raise about men and how we are making it harder on your lives.
These are not the only factors that determine your rates. Unfortunately your driving record is a contributing factor as well, and thus drivers with spotless records pay the least, and your future destruction derby driver will cause you to pay the most. Maybe he’ll invent a great product one day or get a great career to pay you back for all those wrecked vehicles he accumulated learning to drive.
Where you live can also affect your insurance premiums. More densely-populated metropolitan areas have far more accidents than rural environments, so you pay more for being in a busier city. Makes that more rural, country area sound better and better, doesn’t it.
Remember, don’t go crazy choosing coverage. Everyone is quick to tell you how crazy and dangerous it is to be uninsured, but on the other side of the coin, it is just as crazy to have too much coverage as well. Even though the minimum requirement for state insurance is not nearly enough in most cases, there are ways to keep from getting the top-notch coverage while still keeping your possessions safe in the event of an accident.
A good rule of thumb to have is, “If you have more, get more insurance.” Just like how you struggled with choosing your car, its insurance is just has hard to decide on. Polls taken from surveys say that you could be paying up to $1000 more annually for the same coverage another company could give you. It never hurts to ask, and shopping around with some of the independent companies may save you more than the big names, and give you the same coverage.
There are ways to lower your premiums. First, drive safely, by avoiding collisions and tickets from traffic violations, most companies will offer compensation by giving certain “safe driving” discounts.
Maintaining good credit is becoming a growing trend to consider a person’s credit score when making premiums and setting payment rates. The higher your score the better.
Try dropping unnecessary extras. Things like costs for towing or replacement rental car expenses during repair work may sound like small things, but if your warranty covers these with roadside assistance, you’re paying twice for something you may only need once.
Increasing your deductible. This may sound counterproductive, but increasing your deductible lowers your rates! Of course you’re paying more for when a collision occurs, but the savings on every premium payment allows you room to put back a little bit each time in a savings account for those times you have to foot the bill when a wreck does occur.
There’s always checking your other options. The old rule is, “Look but don’t touch.” So what’s the harm in shopping around? Your situation may change so why not change policies …

The name Subaru is a name that would almost instantly trigger images of cars in most of our minds. The name Subaru is derived from the Pleiades star cluster M45 which is more popularly known as the “Seven Sisters” which is what Subaru represents. However, due to the fact that out of the seven, one sister according to tradition is invisible, there are only six stars in the Subaru logo emblem. This is simply because the Subaru Company which was formerly known as Fuji Heavy Industries is ranked as the twenty-second biggest automaker by production in the world based on statistics from 2012. The company made its mark in the automotive industry in 1972 when it introduced the boxer engine which supported the Symmetrical All Wheel Drive drive-train layout for their vehicles that were above 1500 cc. This automobile concept was slowly adapted by their other models and by the 90s became standard for their mid-size and smaller car series. Even Toyota adapted the boxer engine concept for their rear drive models. The company grew a consumer segment in Western markets that consisted of vehicle enthusiasts, who preferred the Subaru concept, although this was just a niche segment, these enthusiasts were devoted to the brand. The company’s strategic marketing initiatives was in fact focused on those who prefer signature engines that were all-wheel drive and capable of negotiating rough-roads.
Brief History of Subaru
The roots of Subaru can be traced back to 1915 associated with Fuji Heavy Industries which initially started out as an Aircraft Research Laboratory in 1915, more than a decade later the company was restructured and re-established as the Nakajima Aircraft Company, Ltd which went on to become the primary aircraft manufacturer of the Japanese Zeros of Japan during World War II. The company underwent another revamp after the war and re-established as the Fuji Sangyo Co in 1946. The development of the Fuji Rabbit motor scooter using spare aircraft parts that was left over from the war which proved there was demand for motorised vehicles triggered Kenji Kita, the CEO of Fuji to focus on car manufacturing which the company never turned back from. Among the first models produced by Subaru included the Subaru 1500, the tiny air-cooled 360 (1958), the Sambar (1961), and the 1000 which was the first to use the Subaru boxer engine in. Despite the company’s prestigious position among the automotive stars, Subaru was also impacted by what most are referring to as ‘the decade of recalls’.
Subaru Recalls
Subaru issued a recall statement to the masses which were attributed to an issue of select models stalling. The recall was issued around October last year which required addressing the faulty engine control modules involving nearly 500,000 Impreza and Crosstrek models manufactured between 2017 and 2019. The statement also mentions that some Ascent and Forester SUVs could also be affected by the stalling problem. It is advised not to use your Subaru workshop manual as you can have the dealer fix this problem for free. Subaru’s swift action and the manner through which the automotive manufacturer managed the entire episode were admirable to say the least.

Clearly the sure way of cutting auto insurance rate is to keep claim free. For that reason you might have to look at certain dangerous driving styles that increase the possibility of involving in a car accident. you should not be smug about driving in a certain way.
Take into account that normally you have the people you care in the vehicle with you. When you end up in a crash, it is very possible that you would cause an injury to someone you care.
You have most likely witnessed someone speaking about his driving capabilities while using a cell phone or maintaining just one hand on the steering wheel. Only an idiot might believe that any of those is cool. Everybody would agree that sitting behind the wheel while after drinking alcohol is not ever justifiable regardless of what the law says.
There are a few practices that are not unlawful or obvious nevertheless hazardous. Whilst driving drinking, smoking or arguing with the passenger at the back seat are several of them. There is a possibility that you may involve in an incident even if you are completely focussed. Why raise the odds by getting preoccupied?
Several studies show increases in the crushes when the driver carries on those practices. Any person with common sense would not require any studies to accept the wrongness of those habits. The question is that will you go over your driving once more and commit to correcting a few of the mistakes.
Should you really like lower auto insurance premiums continuously, you must learn good driving capabilities. After you have correct practices, remaining a cautious driver will be the outcome of your subconscious behaviors.
Today’s car insurance industry is tailored to awarding safe drivers. Number of car insurance companies would just insure safe drivers and offer expensive rates to the ones that they believe extreme risk. Your cost can easily be just one-third of a thoughtless driver.…

Auto Repair – When You Should Pay More and When You Shouldn’t
Rusty December 21, 2020 ArticleAuto repair, why does it cost so much? If you take your car to a reputable auto repair shop their services might not be the cheapest in town, but there are some valid reasons for this. The old adage “Would you go to the low bidder for brain surgery?” really does apply to auto repair shops as well. Cheap service today may just cost you more in the long run.
6 Reasons Why You Should Pay More
Here are six attributes that you will find at a reputable, high quality auto repair shop. This may mean that you might pay more for some services at a shop like this, but there is a good reason for it and it will be worth it.
1) They will employ only top notch, talented, certified technicians. These guys are highly sought after and command a decent wage. They spend a lot on their tools and training. They also spend time on continuing education to maintain their certifications and to stay abreast of the latest industry technology. If you haven’t noticed, cars are getting more complicated just like everything else. This industry is filled with lousy mechanics that will work for cheap, but the good shops don’t hire them.
2) They subscribe to the best technical information systems. This provides them access to all of the latest service bulletins and manufacturer’s specifications. This is the only way to stay current on all makes and models.
3) They only use top quality parts. The auto parts market has been flooded with cheap off-shore manufactured imitations. A good shop is very careful about what parts they install. Quality (when it is still available) costs more.
3) They will be fully insured, so you are protected.
4) They dispose of hazardous wastes in an environmentally sound manner.
5) You will notice that they keep a clean shop equipped with the latest tools and diagnostic equipment. If they don’t respect their shop, they won’t respect your vehicle.
6) They pay their taxes and they make a profit. That’s right, they have to make money to keep the doors open. That way they will be there the next time you need service, and the next, and the next.
The message in this is that good quality probably costs a little more, but if you want your vehicle maintained properly so that it lasts, it’s worth it.
Why You Shouldn’t Pay More
A lot of money is wasted on automobile service. Customer’s are “sold” service their car may not really need. Many facilities employ “salesmen” as their service writers. They are trained in salesmanship and are paid according to how much they can sell. This is unfortunate because it gives the entire industry a bad name. Ask the shop if the service writers are paid commissions.
Here’s a typical example. A customer takes his vehicle to the Cheapie, Super Fast Lube Shop for an oil change. The Super Fast Super Salesman informs the customer that he needs a transmission service, cooling system flush, fuel injection service etc. etc. and the customer doesn’t remember when these things were done last so he says go ahead. Turns out he wasn’t due for those services for another 20,000 miles! Wasted money!
Another example: a customer takes his vehicle to the tire shop for new tires. The service writer knows he is not going to see this car again for a long time. He figures he better sell the customer a brake job (or something else) now, and he does. The vehicle didn’t really need a brake job for another 10,000 miles! Wasted money!
How to Avoid Over Paying
The way to avoid all of this is to find an honest, reputable auto repair service facility that can provide all or nearly all of your needs, and STAY WITH THEM! This does three things:
First, all of your service records will be kept in one place so you won’t be “doubling up” on services at multiple shops. Remember the examples above.
Secondly, when you are going to the same place for service regularly, they know your car and your driving habits. A good shop that services your vehicle regularly knows how much life is left in your brakes. They would know that the way you drive, you can travel at least another 10,000 miles before the brakes will need to be replaced.
And third, by giving all your business to one shop, you become their “Bread and Butter”. Funny thing about honest mechanics, they protect their bread and butter customers. They will bend over backwards to keep them happy. They need them. They are always providing little extras for them at no cost. You know, like replacing light bulbs and fixing little things that most people would overlook.
Your vehicle is one of your …
Do you ever wonder how people get cheap used cars directly from the auction? Well, they either have a dealer license and an auction license… Or they paid a hefty fee to someone who has the licenses to buy the car for them. This seems like a pretty difficult thing to do especially since you would most likely have to do the latter. But there is another way that is much easier and cheaper… What way is that?
There are special places online where you can go to get access to many cheap used cars that come directly from the government auctions, police car auctions, etc. These vehicles are usually priced at just a hundred dollars and up and you can get a relatively new car for up to 95% off the retail price value! Not bad, right?
These websites are set up so that once you pay a small one time fee to become a member, you get access to thousands and thousands of cheap used cars! It doesn’t get much easier than that. Also, you can’t find cars anywhere else for as cheap as the ones you can find from the government auction. Why not?
Because these vehicles have been either surrendered or confiscated by the authorities for some reason or other, they get sold at auction for a fraction of what they are really worth and the money usually goes to the state. This is good news for you because you can get a car from 2008 for only 100 bucks or more! If you are looking for cheap used cars, I highly suggest you look into buying directly from the auction before anywhere else!…
It is believed that majority of new car sales that take place are due to the well planned marketing strategy of the car manufacturers. However, in reality, it is the other way round. Around 80% of the sales take place due to the buyers’ references or the marketing skills of the salesmen. The advertisements don’t tell the complete story of a car. It is the salesman who does. Therefore, the role of a salesman in selling a car cannot be undermined.
The job of a car salesman is not easy at all. Selling a car worth thousands of dollars cannot be a cakewalk. So what should a salesman do to sell a car? Following are few of the tips a salesman could refer to:
Think as a businessman:
It is important to think as a businessman rather than a salesman. Doing this will definitely make you try harder towards making sales. Moreover, if you get a commission for every sale you make, this approach can really fetch you some serious money.
Know the car well
Make sure that you know the car you are selling well. Find the strong points that you can put across the clients. Apart from that, know the weaknesses of your car as well so that you can defend them well in front of your clients.
Listen more and talk less
Most of the salesmen commit this mistake. Out of sheer excitement or the aggressive approach towards making a sale, they just don’t allow the customers to speak. This will not take you anywhere. Try and listen to customers as much as possible. By listening to them, you will be able to comprehend their needs and strategize accordingly.
Don’t try to hide facts
IF your products have a disadvantage or a negative point, make sure you don’t hide it. Instead, try and defend it by giving sensible counter statements. Don’t be very aggressive in your defence. Mind you, its your product that has deficiency.
Stay calm and polite
It is very important to be calm and polite while talking to your customer. Some customers try to act smart by asking too many funny questions but you need to hold on to your nerves and answer the questions sensibly and in the politest manner you can.
Customer is always right
Remember the golden rule “customer is always right”. You can prove him wrong but you don’t need to and especially when he is interesting in buying your car. Even if they refuse to buy your car, greet them with full warmth and thank them for giving their time.
These are just few tips which can help you in selling your car. However, at the end of the day, its going to be your mannerisms and skills that will fetch you a sale.…

If you drive a car that’s European, auto repair is a bit different for you than for someone who owns an American vehicle. Some of the most popular cars driven in the U.S. are of European origin. Many of these foreign brands are well-made, elegant and sporty. Some examples are the BMW, Volkswagen, Audi, Volvo and Mercedes. Some popular American manufacturers are Ford, Chevrolet and Dodge. Japanese manufacturers also produce quality vehicles such as Nissan, Toyota and Honda. There is a variety of different factors that go into the decision of what kind of car to purchase.
Some of the features sought by consumers around the globe include gas mileage, reliability, performance, safety and resale value. It is also important to learn which makes and models break down more often and what it costs to repair them.
Gas mileage: With the planet’s dwindling resources and rising costs of gasoline, many consumers are intent on driving a vehicle that gets as many miles per gallon as possible. Hybrids and smart cars have been developed for just this reason. Many of the large gas hogs of yesteryear are being traded in for greener models that go further on less. Some European cars, such as Volvo, have much stricter emissions standards than those made in the US.
Reliability: Everyone wants a vehicle that is reliable on the road. A car that is low-maintenance and durable enough to bump along dirt roads or travel uphill in the snow. It’s also desirable to have a vehicle that starts up with minimal fuss and takes off down the street on a dime.
Performance: A vehicle with high performance capabilities is a must have. No one wants to drive an old bomb that barely makes it up inclines. High performance is a good thing, but it can come at the cost of increased gas consumption and emissions.
Safety: All cars have safety features built in, no matter how tiny and vulnerable they may appear externally. Sturdy externals that will hold up in a crash, air bags, strong metallic surfaces, tough bumpers and shatter proof windshields are all important safety features. Be sure to check out the specific features of the car you are considering, as these requirements vary by country.
Resale value: Some cars depreciate in value faster than others. That’s because they will likely need to be repaired more often or wear out more quickly. An online perusal of used car prices on a site such as Kelly Blue Book will give a person the stats they are looking for in terms of resale value. Owning a car that holds its value is like saving money in the bank, even if the initial cost outlay is a little higher.
Repair costs: The pricier the vehicle, the more it will probably cost to repair it. That’s because the parts needed for replacement are more expensive, just like the car, and many foreign parts are difficult to obtain in the US. Before purchasing a European, Japanese, or American car, it’s a wise idea to check out repair costs, records and probabilities.
If a person is looking for a mechanic to restore, replace or perform maintenance on their automobile, it is important to shop around. Word-of-mouth referrals are one way to find someone competent and skilled. If a person owns a foreign car, he or she may want to take it to a shop that specializes in the make and model of their vehicle. Some shops only work on imports or American cars, while others cover the spectrum. Find out by asking around, looking on the Internet and calling the shops directly. A bit of research will turn up the appropriate American, Japanese, or European car repair shop and get you back on your way in style.…
There’s a stigma about repairs to your vehicle being difficult. This belief especially holds firm in the more cosmetic areas of auto repair, often dissuading people who are otherwise completely capable of performing the tasks themselves. But don’t let the tiny parts fool you; most of your auto’s components are pretty tough and you’re not going to break them if you simply have a little knowledge about what you’re doing and the right tools to do it.
Removing a side view mirror is a good starter procedure for a novice do it yourself enthusiast, as it will introduce you to a small, but detailed, part of your auto. There are many reasons why you would have to remove your side view, but we won’t get into why exactly you need to take yours off. Let’s get down to taking the sucker off.
To correctly perform this task, you’ll need the following:
A 4-in-1 screwdriver
A panel remover lever
A hooked pick
All of these items can be found at any typical auto part store for a low-cost. So, once you have these things lined up next to you, let’s get inside your car.
Open your car door and locate the side view mirror trim cover panel. This is a triangular plastic cover on the inside of the door where the mirror is mounted. Insert the tip of the panel lever remover under the panel and apply adequate pressure to pry it off. Now, don’t “rip” it off. Just apply enough pressure to have it pop off. Don’t force something that doesn’t come loose easily. You may damage it and incur costly repairs or replacements.
Once the panel is removed, you should see the fasteners that were hidden by the panel. They may be behind decorative caps and are to be found in the hidden recesses of the door. Take off the vanity caps and remove the screws underneath. Set the screws aside but take care not to lose them.
Feel around the edge of the trim panel for the fasteners that secure the panel to the door. When you find them, gently pull back the panel and insert your hooked pick to pop the fastener form its hole. Make a quick check to see that none of them were damaged before you move on. Remember, don’t force things.
Now lower your window and grip the sides of the trim panel. Pull it up and away from the door to remove it. Carefully set it aside. Find the cable running from the door to the mirror and remove it from the side view mirrors electrical connector. This should be fairly simple and you can repeat the process on the power source in the door. Using the screwdriver, disconnect the screws that mount the side view to the inside of the door.…
The Ford Motor Company is responsible and the culprit behind the success and prestige that the Mazda Tribute has at present. Despite the fact that 2006 would be the last year that this vehicle would be manufactured, sales of this vehicle has not been greatly affected. The life story of the Mazda Tribute had started back in the year 2001. It had taken the spot and niche that the Mazda Navajo left vacant when its production was entirely halted. However, this time around, when the Mazda Tribute is not manufactured anymore, its spot would be taken by the upcoming Mazda CX 7.
The Mazda Tribute has been built and mounted on the FF CD2 platform of the Ford Motor Company. This same platform has been used by the previous front wheel drive Mazda 626 vehicle. It has been designed as a compact crossover sport utility vehicle and this vehicle holds four doors. It is related to the Ford Escape and the Mercury Mariner. It has been said that its competition in the automobile market include the Jeep Liberty, the Toyota RAV4, the Hyundai Tucson, and the Honda CR-V.
During its introduction, the Mazda Tribute was unveiled to have been equipped with either a 2.0 L Mazda engine with four cylinders or the Ford Duratec 3.0 L V6 engine. However, if you do travel to Europe, you would find out that the Mazda Tribute is currently being sold as the Ford Maverick. And this vehicle was equipped with the 2.0 L Ford Zetec engine and had a manual transmission system as part of it. However, another choice for the engine was a 3.0 L Duratec engine with an automatic transmission system.
Mazda claims that the Mazda Tribute is the right vehicle not only for on road driving but also for off road traversing. Whatever the kind of terrain that there could be, the Mazda Tribute could definitely handle them. The engine is guaranteed to be lightweight yet provides enough and good power. Aside from power, the Mazda Tribute actually has been made available with various choices. As per the interior, interested parties could choose between cloth and leather material for the seats and the color choices for these materials are Dark Flint and Medium Pebble. The exterior color choices, on the other hand, comprise of Blazing Copper, Stormfront Gray, Classic White, Dark Titanium, Mystic Black, Pebble Ash, Platinum, Redfire, and Lapis Blue.
Interested parties, Mazda aficionados, and Mazda owners can come across super durable replacement parts on Mazda Parts and Mazda Auto Parts. Mazda Parts and Mazda Auto Parts is one of the largest dealers of Mazda parts and accessories including Mazda Tribute parts. The need for the services of automobile repair is everywhere, even on the internet. Yes, many mechanics are offering their services online so as to keep with the trends in technology. Most people nowadays are on the virtual environment doing exactly the same things they do offline – shopping, making friends, and working, to name a few, and finding an auto mechanic online is not at all a strange idea. In fact, it is a concept that is already become acceptable and bound to be more appreciated by a greater number of car owners.
You could say that an auto mechanic is your car’s best buddy. He can help you with many things; if you have difficulty starting your car for instance, or if you are on the road and your car keeps on stalling, or that your car overheated or you need help with your engine or cooling system, you can find help immediately by simply turning on your mobile device with internet and connecting with an auto mechanic online. Of course, these are not the only car problems the technician can help you with, but remember, auto mechanics have different areas of specialty. Before engaging the services of the automotive tech, you may want to make sure that he is fully knowledgeable of the job you want him to undertake. You could ask for certifications and licenses to ensure that you are dealing with a professional mechanic, one who has gone to school to learn the theories and techniques and then perfected the craft. This might take time, for sure, that is why it should work to your advantage to do your research of auto mechanics online before trouble sets in; otherwise, you could be left with a choice that is not necessarily the best choice at all.
If you’re lucky, you could stumble on a few websites where you could find a pool of skilled and professional mechanic. By subscribing to these websites, you’ll be able to post a question which an auto mechanic who is an expert on the topic of your concern will then attend to.
Needless to say, when dealing with a professional mechanic, you need to be very specific and detailed of what your car’s problem is, more so if you are communicating via the World Wide Web wherein the mechanic cannot have an actual look at your car. Think of the mechanic as your doctor, and so you must describe the symptoms as clearly as possible. From these, the mechanic will diagnose what the problem is and then suggest possible solutions.
The world that surrounds auto mechanics is one that is interesting, fun, and profitable. If you want to benefit from the opportunities, go get a degree in auto tech and become a professional auto mechanic yourself, than you can start reaping all the rewards, financial and otherwise, too. On the other hand, if you’d rather get the services of an auto mechanic, take advantage of internet innovations to help you find one with ease.…
One of the biggest fears of someone just wetting their toes in the shallow end of auto repair is that the minute they take something apart, they’ll never be able to put it back together again. This is a legitimate fear. It is closely related to the reason many PC owners don’t know much about their own computers. Once you get past the Start menu, things get scary for the uneducated. Same with cars. Programming the clock is one thing; doing something underneath the hood is quite another. Here is the key to taking something apart and putting it back together again, a useful skill to have when working on your car.
Lay Down a Rag
This is an important step. Ideally, the rag will be white and clean. Each time you remove a part from your car, you’re going to lay it on this rag. There will be no exceptions. Keep it in a place where it isn’t going to get a bunch of dirt and oil on it. At the same time, it should be within easy reach. Once you’ve begun to put parts on it, try not to move it again. It is a rule of auto repair that states if something can be lost, it probably will be. Don’t take that chance.
Make Notes
These don’t have to be actual written notes, though they certainly can be if you’re concerned about your ability to remember. But mental notes will suffice otherwise. The important thing is to be in the moment, and this is the mistake many amateur auto repair beginners make. They take something apart without thinking about what they’re doing. Stay with the task. Make a note about each part you set aside. What does it do? Where does it go? How does it do what it does? You may not be fully aware of all the answers, but even getting close can help you tremendously when it comes to putting it all back together.
Start a System
Putting down a rag isn’t enough. You’ll want to lay the parts aside systematically. The easiest way to do this is in a clockwise fashion. What’s the reasoning? Because when you begin putting it back together, you can simply start from the bottom and work your way back up. Go counter-clockwise, and you won’t have to worry about getting what you thought was the end and still having a piece left over. If you go one at a time, you’ll never have to worry about your auto repair turning into a hair-pulling nightmare of frustration. Well, not from this aspect, anyway.…
We all know that accidents happen, it is a fact of life. However, this point does not make having one any less scary. Even after you have checked to make sure your body parts are all still attached there is still a ton to think about. What should I do about insurance, should I call the police, how do I ask for his or her insurance information and so on. These are all questions that will address as well as many others. However, we will start at the start.
At the scene
The immediate reaction most people have to being in an accident is “oh crap I was just in an accident!” When you recover some level of sense and are able to look around, make sure that you and your passengers are ok. If anyone is injured call the authorities and let them handle it, do not ever try to remove someone from the car unless there is danger of a fire or some more pressing and immediate danger.
Provided that you and your passengers are OK (a few bumps and bruises are fine), take a deep breath and try to remain calm. Always keep a pen and paper around to quickly jot down the other car’s license plate number. Shut your car off and step out if it is safe to do so. Take a look at the damage and do your best to keep your cool, this is not the time to blow up. A common misconception is that the police do not need to be called in every instance. The police should always be called as it is in the best interest of everyone involved to have a police report. You do not need to get insurance involved if that is your choice, but having a police report will always help, especially if the other person decides to pull the ol’ switcharoo on you and demand payment.
Interacting with the other driver
This is a scary part, you have to interact with someone whom you do not know. You do not know how this person will react or what they will try to do. The key here is to stay calm and try to think rationally (we know that can be hard after something jarring like an accident). If you have a calm demeanor it will relax the other party. Be courteous but firm, try not to start an argument as the police/insurance companies can settle any dispute better than you.
Make sure you exchange insurance information regardless of whether you plan to get insurance involved or not. It is always good to have just in case. If it appears that the other driver has lost his cool it is even more important that you remain calm. If the police are coming then you have nothing to worry about, the anger will only make him or her seem more at fault. Try not to get into a shouting match as you do not want to antagonize the other driver.
Finally, when the police arrive, make sure you give them a detailed report as to what happened from your view. Do not embellish, exaggerate or lie as the police are very good at sniffing that out. Even if you suspect the other driver will do so, make sure your story is as you remember it. The police will assume that everyone is trying to cover his or her own ass and will catch the exaggerations of the other party. Also, any witnesses will confirm your story if you told the truth.
After the accident
There are a few things to do after an accident. If you chose to do so, file an insurance claim. The police report will come in handy here. Follow the process of your insurance company and see if they will cover your accident. Make sure you stay in some form of contact with the other party (provided they were as courteous as you were) so that you both know what is going on.
Finally there is the issue of getting your car repaired. Usually a good first step is to search on Google for collision specialists in your area. Find a few and get estimates for how much it would cost to fix. Make sure you like both the pricing and the specialist’s personality before going in to get it fixed. Many people believe they can do the repairs themselves. Generally speaking, working on your own car can be fun and rewarding, however when it comes to collisions it is good to find a specialist. Each accident is unique and there is no guide on how to fix any one. Each requires a custom job, including frame and body work, that is extremely difficult for someone without the proper tools and training. Also, …
To protect yourself from loss in the event of an accident you must purchase insurance. In the automotive realm this is an easy thing to do but there are a lot of options that you need to consider first so that you can get the most for your money.
You are bombarded everyday with advertisements from insurance companies on television, radio, magazines, and newspapers, not to mention the unasked for envelopes in your mailbox from insurance companies who know nothing about you offering to save you up to $497 dollars per year on your auto insurance.
Let’s look at some interesting insurance history first. In an ancient treasure called the Code of Hammurabi we find that in Babylon around 1780 B.C. that if a merchant ships cargo was lost, traders were protected from financial responsibility in exchange for 20 percent of the cargo’s value.
The first car insurance policy was written in England around 1895. The first car insurance policy in the United States was written in 1898. In the year 1927, Massachusetts became the first state to require mandatory automobile insurance. All fifty states now require automobile insurance but it is up to each state to determine the minimum amounts of required coverage.
Coverage- Certain coverage may be costing you more money than you need to pay. An example would be carrying physical damage coverage on a vehicle with a low value. Another example would be having double coverage when a health insurance policy is in force. Find a knowledgeable insurance agent to guide you in making these decisions. Always get more than one quote. Get a second and maybe even a third estimate.
The vehicle that you drive is generally the second most expensive investment that you have purchased and it should be protected by an insurance policy just as you have protected your home against damage. Did you know that it is a good idea to get an insurance quote prior to purchasing a vehicle as some fall into a higher risk category.
Adding additional vehicles on the same policy can help to reduce your rates with a multi car discount. The amount of miles that you put on a vehicle in a year has a direct impact on how much your insurance premium will be. MileMeter Insurance Company, based in Dallas Texas, sells insurance per mile and has over 100 pending patent claims.
There are some insurance discounts available to good drivers that year after year do not turn in any claims. These discounts are issued as a result of having a good driving record with a certain minimum amount of driving experience. A good student discount can help younger drivers with a discounted premium. Some things that cannot be controlled, such as age and sex, can impact prices also. Discounts for seniors can be attained by taking and graduating defensive driving classes.…
One of the most common symptoms of vehicular malfunction requiring auto repair is the recent onset of different types of noises. If you can hear a vehicle noise over the hum of the engine, it probably is pretty significant and should be evaluated and repaired by a professional. Some noises may come and go depending on the weather and how hot the engine is running or how long it has been running. Chirping is a common noise that may indicate a number of different problems and should be promptly evaluated by an auto repair specialist.
If the chirping noise only occurs while you are driving and you do not notice it while the engine is idling, then it may be difficult to figure out exactly where the sound is coming from. It may be helpful to ride along with a passenger that can help you determine at what point in the engine cycle it occurs or what you are doing to make it louder or softer.
Some of the most common causes of a chirping sound include brake pad wear and tear, cam angle sensor, serpentine belt, accessory bearings axle bearing, drive shaft u joint, or even the clutch.
There are a few simple things you can do to narrow down the problem and evaluate the fix that is needed. Brake pad wear is perhaps one of the most simple things to see and the quickest to diagnose. If the noise happens while the brakes are being applied, there is a very good chance that the problem is the braking system and that the pads need to be replaced. Serpentine and accessory bearings are a little less straightforward to work on, but if replacing the parts eliminates the noise, then you have your solution and have already done the fix.
As with all types of moderate to intensive auto repair, be sure to trust the experts and bring your vehicle in for a full diagnostic work up if you are unsure about the problem. Investing in a proficient and professional team of technicians is a good way to get more miles out of your vehicle and get more miles out of your fuel tank. Keep your car on the road longer even after you notice a chirping noise with the right auto repair professional team of technicians to take care of the problem and fix it properly the first time.…
When people are involved in car accidents they’re often afraid to tell their insurance company about it. They’re worried their insurance prices will go up.
Your insurance rates will only increase if you were at fault for the accident. Even if you were at fault, the fear of increased rates shouldn’t deter you from reporting the claim. You can be sure the other party will talk to their insurance provider, who will contact your provider.
The reason you pay for insurance is to protect you from instances exactly like this. Your liability coverage will cover any injuries and damage to the other party. You already pay for your insurance, you may as well utilize it.
You’ll want to file a claim as soon possible so your insurance provider can get started on resolving the accident and getting you back on the road as soon as possible. They’ll get in touch with the other insurance company and the other parties involved on your behalf.
Do not try to settle the accident on your own. Almost always, the other party will claim injuries, loss of income, pain and suffering and more. Unless you’re a millionaire, you won’t be able to afford this. Just let your insurance take care of it.
If you discover your car has been vandalized in some way (broken window, scratches, etc) or if it’s stolen, assuming you have Comprehensive coverage, your rates will NOT be affected as you weren’t a negligent driver.
Insurance rates only go up when the insurance company can see that you are more of a risk as a driver.
So don’t be afraid to file a claim.…
